CRV problem with rear end support failure will cause grinding noise when driven. part # HAB-016

Just had this issue diagnosed on my 02 CRV and found it accidentally. 140k miles, and my car had a shimmy vibration from 10-50 mph. replaced the struts, axles, balljoints, tie rod ends, and the intermediate shaft over the course of about 6mo. finally did the intermediate shaft thinking it would be the solution, put the car back up in the air to give it some gas to see if it worked and then i saw the slightest rocking of the rear diff and knew that was it, so i thought the bolt was loose, snapped the bolt off in the frame with one click of the impact and had to have it towed and extracted. The bushings in the diff mount are the culprit. no aftermarket options, all of them are bad, used, and theyre on backorder, as well as OEM bolts which are 96.5mm long..... 14mm head w/ shouldered bolt, 1.25 fine x 10mm x 100mm bolts work well too in a pinch. get 10.8

I just did mine on my 03 element, its not a bad job if your bolts are in good shape. I had to cut the bolts that hold the support bracket to the body. Then drill and easy out the cut bolts. The bolts that held the support bracket to the differential heads were rotted and had to be removed with a socket extractor. You have to disconnect the rear diff mount and lower the differential on a jack to its lowest point to get the bolts out.

Support the diff unbolt the mount get 2 new bushes if you have a press push old bushes out push new ones in and bolt back up its easy also at the same time replace the rear mount 3 bolts bolt new one back in you may also want to check the dynamic damper as well if rubbers are shot replace to very easy you can buy a full rear diff mount and damper kit.

06 crv that has the same problem. Is that my car shakes like i have a flat tire????? Diff dampner is gone too.

Did you have to drop the diff? Or did you just unbolted the part and bolt the new one in?

I have the same issue, i did a diagnose on my vibration durin highway speed 55 mph and upwards, they vibrate ridiculously. So my suspect is this one Thanks,

yes it did make a vibration noise when driving highway speed 55 mph or more. also you want to check the wheel bearings for wear on 2006 CRV as the rear wheel bearings do tend to make a rumble vibrate noise.
