What changed with the Oilers PP was the Canucks PK. The Canucks started this series off with an incredibly passive PK, the Oilers with their absurd dynamic PP roster just destroyed that. Game 5 the Canucks were crazy aggressive on the PK, they were all over the Oilers in almost every second they had it in the zone. No idea if they can replicate it but last night the Canucks had solved the Oilers historic powerplay. Good reason it went 0/5.

The Kreider tip on the pp was all the skill and all Kreider. Its a superb goal . The go ahead goal....i have no idea how youre looking at the goalie as you can also see those forwards standing still. Literally standing still. They got outworked. But those forwards are embarrassing. The Trochek goal is not on the goalie it's on Trochek making a superb play. After all the talk the Rangers lost one game 4 must win or die Carolina and a let down game where the word is half the team was sick as hell while playing. Carolina is a great team. It's not a shock that they made it a series. I'm thrilled by the results but it wasn't all that scary that Carolina won games. It would have been insane if they didn't

The language of the charge doesn't make any sense what is "skates an opponent in any matter." This is isn't a charge because pettersson isn't skating or jumping into anything. He left his feet but not into the player. League needs to clarify badly

@ajbolt7
@ajbolt7 Ай бұрын
@@lankancheetahhonestly that’s because it’s not as interesting lol. Alongside everything outlined below, that Panthers-Avs series was a sweep. The Rangers-Canucks series went a full 7 games and was incredibly tight. That’s way more enticing. Everyone knows Colorado’s a contender, they’re always around this time of year. Florida’s damn good but they already went deep last year and reruns aren’t as novel. The Canucks are far and away the most fascinating team still alive in the playoffs right now. Everyone’s been doubting that team all year, and they’ve been proving people wrong over and over and over again. It’s only now, when they’re within 1 win of being in the final 4, that people are starting to come around and realize they might actually be good. That narrative alone is already money. Then you have NYR on this stretch with a ton of parallels to their 1994 season. All the historic signs are there. They’re a juggernaut who won 7 games in a row this playoffs and they’re looking to overcome that President’s Trophy curse just like they did in 94. It’s the 30 year anniversary of the Canucks-Rangers series. NYR won their first cup in 54 years that series. The Canucks have now gone 54 years without a cup. Combine everything all of this and you’ve got a matchup of destiny in the making.

I just watched the charge by Peterson … it absolutely should be a call. Jumping that high means you are deliberately targeting the head. It’s a dangerous hit that shouldn’t be allowed. Thats why it’s so rare of a call, it’s such an outrageously dangerous type of contacts it’s incredibly rare
@Eleutherios1
@Eleutherios1 Ай бұрын
The Peterson call IS NOT THE RULE. Jumping alone is not a charge.. even jumping INTO is not a charge... it can't be because the rule also says SKATES.. therefore even skating into an opponent in any manner would be a charge. You can't isolate the "jump" part..and then not do the same and isolate the "skate" part. If you can isolate one you can isolate the other. And its clear that the act of 'skating into someone in any manner ' is not a charge... therefor 'jumping into someone in any manner' also can't be a call. There is a reason that thousands of us with decades of hockey playing and viewing experience have never ever ever ever seen this call or this interpretation of this call. It is not the proper interpretation... is a post hoc attempt to excuse and explain away the blatant call for edmonton and its only being done by edmonton fans and league/edmonton apologist media.

The word "or" might do a lot of work but, the word "into" doesn't do any work in the Petterson's case. Like, you jump "into" a pool which, by default include a lateral movement. Petterson didn't move at all except up so, how can he jump "into" the other guy without latteral movement. Again, if this was a pool, Petterson, would still be dry...

Sometimes you want to bring in the tough on the players head coach to crack the whip because you feel the team deserves it. If they run out a similar roster next season this whole team could implode. The thing I hate most about a coaching change is when you get a couple players throwing the old coach under the bus, saying that nobody really knew what was going on and then how everything makes sense now. I don't know if they're lobbying for ice time or what, but it's a show I've seen so many times as players pretend they have nothing to do with the last coach getting fired.

Just thought I'd pipe up while watching (they might mention it still, haven't seen yet) that 1st Rangers goal wasn't directly off a rebound. The rebound was lost by Freddy, but a Canes player picked it up for a sec, then shot/passed it past his own man, RIGHT to Panarin who immediately shot it for Vinny's redirect. Yes, Freddy lost the rebound, but Canes defense made a MASSIVE turnover to an open Panarin of all people for basically an empty net At least, that's what I recall
