After countless requests for this I finally decided to get my finger out and get on with it. I myself have grown up watching Frankie Boyle all the way from the "Mock The Week" days but my American Fiancé has never seen or heard of him, and this compilation might be the perfect fit to introduce him to her.

'On the broo' means on unemployment benefits. It comes from when the service was first introduced, I think the department was called something like the 'Employment Service Bureau' or something similar. And because of the way us Scots pronounced the word 'bureau' it quickly just became 'on the broo.'

The missing seats (hope they're dead in a car crash) joke was particularly brutal. The day before the gig, the headline news in Glasgow was of a newlywed couple who were killed in a collision shortly after the nuptials, so the reference wasn't lost on the audience at the time.

Not true I'm afraid! Those tickets were bought by my ex girlfriend for me and her to see Frankie in Glasgow ( We lived in Birmingham). The tickets were a valentines gift and the show was in August I think, however we split up literally the day after valentines day after a massive row on the first day of a holiday in Tenerife. I flew home the next day 😂! She kept the tickets so I'm guessing she didn't fancy the trip to Glasgow from Brum. Shame she wasted them because it was a fantastic show👏 . Frankie Boyle's such a legend because his jokes transcend class. His experiences span the working and middle classes - skint lad, teacher, entertainer, writer & he brings this rich spectrum of life to his comedy. He'll be one of those people remembered for years to come when he's gone...not because he said fuck you to political correctness. He didn't need to, just ignored it and performed uncensored - ignoring the gnashing and wailing of the politically correct as though they didn't exist. His style and content would never be shown in most countries *on their national TV station* , certainly not the US. Boyle's one of the main reasons you can be proud to be a Brit. People whine on - _Ah doan like his politics, his views, his rude words_ - he couldnae give a fuck. Clever, self-effacing, aware, vulgar, fearless, funny as fuck. Frankie Boyle. A fucking legend.

Frankie's still a savage, he just doesn't punch down anymore so people who expect him to make the obvious jokes about the obvious targets don't like when he goes after someone else instead.

I still think Frankie's best is from Mock the Week in the bit things you wouldn't hear in the Queens address "I'm now so old that my pussy is haunted". Seeing the reaction on the other comedians faces was priceless.
