There are several weird things that can cause the thyroid to break down. On the next episode of DOZ, I will highlight the nutritional importance of supporting thyroid function and the role of nutrients like protein, zinc, magnesium, selenium, and iron in the production and regulation of thyroid hormone.
We will also explore the connection between gluten and autoimmune thyroid disease, as well as the impact of environmental factors like chlorine, fluoride, bromine, and flame retardants on thyroid health. And let's not forget the need for comprehensive testing and proper nutrition to support thyroid health.
Join me LIVE on Tuesday night as I discuss information on the functioning of the thyroid gland and factors that can affect its health!

When I said to my doctor for my diet about Grave's desies, she said "well done". And she sais to me, to stop also caffeine and hot peppers. I'm on a properly vegan diet (prescribed me from another dr.) and came into remission for 2 months. But stress regulation and good sleeping are huge factors, not only diets.

I told our doctor we were going to gluten free and sugar free diet occasionally berries basically keto mixed with carnivore for my special needs son who is a hypothyroid patient…it was my decision as no doctor ever addresses foods but he was very interested in some of his results …better mood more alert more energy and no gout related issues … yes they removed the iodine in our bread and replaced it with bromine saying it would help the it rise better …this is without a doubt the most comprehensive information I have ever heard concerning hypothyroidism and for that I am truly grateful I will be armed with questions on his next visit asking for more in-depth tests …

I was diagnosed ten years ago with hypothyroidism, not long after grieving from a loss and high levels of stress, the doc wanted to wack me on meds straightaway , I had no idea what it was when I questioned I was told there’s nothing I can do it’s a disease and I would be on meds for the rest of my life , i dived right into finding anything on line to at least naturally heal and bring down my 8.4 level , gluten free , whole organic foods no sugar alcohol, selenium, mag, kelp, zinc, Vit d in 6wks my level came down to 4.0 still at these results doc said I still want you to go on meds ... I said Nope I’m good ... and have managed my own health successful with keto and IF 😌

Well done! I'm curious did you have any Hypothyroidism symptoms? I had a blood test and my Serum TSH level was 8.53 mU/L and my doctor gave me no advice and said he will do my bloods in 3 months time. According to that number I'm Subclinical Hypothyroidism and have no symptoms, I've also gone online watch KZfaq vids and just stop having gluten, gone suger free, no process foods and taking selenium and iodine,Zinc, Vit D, like yourself. Hopefully this all should help my levels in 3 month's time🤞

@@SteveSmith-tm4up yes I did I noticed when washing my hair it would shed more than normal, I feel like I didn’t have a lot of energy in the afternoon and after eating bloated and constipation , most of my young life my diet was pretty much was full of carbs ,potatoes ,breads , pasta , biscuits , cakes etc I was basically crashing my immunity it was a struggle to keep on track staying away a lifetime of food addiction , I was never over weight as I have an active life but noticed my metabolism was slowing down with age and muscle weakness, thanks to all the available info here I have spent several years on tailoring my health , I have learnt so much especially hormonal balance nobody ever talked about that ! With the amazing info we can nourish our bodies and live a hopefully a good quality of life instead of dying slowly and painfully from a disease 😌

All the doctors l have encountered in my life my family doctor, the thyroid specialist, the cardiologist, the Gastroenterologist, none of them could help me with answering simple questions regarding diet, nutrition and just simple food questions. It was sad seeing these people being clueless when it came to food and health. My family doctor started taking vitamin D3 and B12 after l gave him the information of how important those vitamins are. My cardiologist had no clue regarding K2 and D3 the importance of both vitamins. Of course l shouldn't be surprised when one sees the doctors themselves are overweight that healthy nutrition is not on their plate. They all told me they never received training or any information about nutrition in med school. However they received plenty of training in pushing meds. Sad very sad😢

I insist on coming in since I have having breathing issues.............he said a remarkable statement .....and it was this >>>> (There is no disease that cannot be healed by our diets if we know about the disease soon enough and would follow it completely....). Wow, I wanted to give him the Nobel Peace Prize, he was from another office out of town, I wish I could go to him..............Carol

1. Diagnosed with hypothyroidism 30 years ago. 2. Dr. Put me on Armour, strict diet for 12 months, selenium, chromium… 3. Regained vigor tremendously! 4. My doctor was forced out of his practice due to his avant-garde approach. 5. I went to a new doctor with my paperwork…she laughed and threw my folder in the trash in front of me. She wanted to immediately put me on synthryoid. 6. I tried synthyroid and felt awful and quit. 7. About 10 years later this doctor wrote me a letter to apologize that she didn’t offer me Amour. 8. I believe she herself developed hypothyroidism. 9. Not long thereafter, I heard that she was shutting down her practice. I trust she is now well.

I am sad to say that patients in Australia have the same reactions when you ask the Doctor about taking certain herbal medications and certain foods. I don't understand why they act in this manner, talking to an old Doctor with many years of service who didn't push you out the door after 10 minutes. I was getting some answers regarding my hypothyroid and how he started treating me with herbal medications and blood tests. Some blood tests were questioned by the laboratory. Unfortunately, the Doctor passed away and I carried on with what he told me. Seeing a new Doctor and asking for certain blood tests and herbal meds, he kinda grunted and didn't answer me. I was put on Levothyroxathin which is causing me many side effects. Happy to have found this video, thank you Doctor for this in-depth information.

When I was diagnosed w/Hashimotos-hypothyroidism, I had just gone through a very traumatic event, was not eating right, and had the pre-disposition as my father has it. I went to my Dr. when I was extremely fatigued. My Dr at that time just told me my thyroid hormones were whack, prescribed me Levothyroxine, and sent me on my way out. There was Zero talk of diet/lifestyle changes that could help. I’ve had my TPO levels drastically go down by doing the keto diet, along with/my symptoms of hypothyroidism lessening or gone. I pray that one day all Doctors will be on the same page as you, Dr. Osborne. Thank you for all you do! We appreciate you! 🙏🏻😊

There is no specialist in auto-immune problems. Each specialist works on the RESULTS of autoimmune disease on organs or joints, etc. DOCTORS NEVER ADDRESS CAUSE BECAUSE THEY ARE FORCED TO PRESCRIBE DRUGS AS THE STANDARD OF CARE. That and they don't know anything about it. For them autoimmune problems are an act of God like lightening or something. Comes out of nowhere and is never treated. The ignorance in medicine is literally criminal.

Found Dr Osborne, who is a treasure, and Dr Isabella Wentz, who is also a treasure! Got off wheat & sugar, struggled for about 2 weeks while my body reset, but it's been great since then. Lost 30 lbs, which I needed to lose, have tons of energy & still work full time teaching, even though I'm 68. Can run circles around my coworkers who are overweight, but they aren't interested in changing their diets. After several years of complaining that I have gut issues, I’m achey, exhausted and don’t feel well, I finally cried. My doctor decided I’m depressed and switched me to different meds. Rather than believe me that all the meds messed up my gut, doc thinks a switch to different meds is the answer. I was told I need an antidepressant added to my arsenal of prescriptions and of course, says my bloodwork is fine. My doctor was very concerned about me doing an elimination diet of course…in 2 days of carnivore, my inflammation and Gerd was nearly gone. I ended up having bloodwork done with a functional med group which revealed that my T3 is very low among other vitamins and minerals. Sadly, I’m having lots of internal tests done because my gut is wrecked. Traditional doctors only want to write prescriptions. I’m grateful for your resources online! Being my own advocate has got me on the right path to root cause healing…wish I had known these things sooner!

@@les9058 I had loads of symptoms! Including extremely low immunity to any illness that was going around and horrendous hay fever. Hives as a child and sinus as a teen and adult. Quitting gluten improved my immunity and I rarely have hay fever symptoms. A sneeze now and then. That's it. I got rid of bloating and stomache aches. I had very bad acne, and still do if I accidentally eat gluten. When I stay away from gluten I have a beautifully clear complexion. I also lost allergies to citrus and lactose.

Gave up wheat, and ate lots of fermwnted foods.. kefir, kombucha and saurkraut, the doctor checks my blood and reminds me that he has heard people do this but i am his first patient to do it and prove it. Edit* I cant say for sure , what really worked because i teied lots of things.. i didnot eat oats and i was very strict not to eat anything with wheat.. as i were celiac serious. I added chia seeds to my coffee in the morning.. so basically i drank my coffee and then ate the coffee flavored chia pudding on the bottom. We also add just a handful if nuts . Brazil , walnuts, and almond.. before bed! Also did the concoction with the vodka and walnuts. My neck used to be very thick in the lower feont. Thats gone now and is wrinkled!!lol

Thanks for the thorough explanation. It is quite frustrating when you speak to most MD's re: thyroid disease. The treatment is DX, minimal bldwk along with basic symptoms then throw levo at you with avoidance of any discussion. Been on thyroid meds for nearly 40 yrs with bld wk running in normal range but symptomatic. Most MD's DO NOT listen and now the med profession is having old hypothyroid patients seeing NP's which will only follow the standard practice of tx. No thinking out of the box. Problems caused by to much interference the the healthcare field by THE government and insurance companies. COMPETENT MD's that got into the profession need to take control over healthcare so we we have real HEALTHCARE and NOT glorified (and expensive) pill pushers. We are individuals and needed to be treated as individual patients. This is coming fron an acute care RN of 45 years in practice. Healthcare has deteriorated since government got involved in an area they do not KNOW or UNDERSTAND. Government can not even run our country effectively currently.

So I decide to add a few very low carb veg and found it more bearable. I try to keep to around 20g digestible carbs. Also I don't know your age but I find that calories do still count. I aim for slightly more fat than protein. You have to break things down nutrionally. I basically only eat about 30 food items (which I like -makes life easier) but I know the carbs, fat and protein of each. My main hydration is plain water. I have mostly eaten a carnivore diet for the last couple of years. Is everything perfect? No, but it's one hell of a lot better than just sitting at home and taking pills, which not only did not help but seemed to, in the long run, make things much worse. I now take no medications are all medication's wrong, no I think there are some good ones but the following question to ask is do we take way too many medication's I think the answer to that is a big yes.. My ketogenic diet in the past 4 years has gotten progressively less pure as we've found way too many processed "keto-friendly" food (substitutes for all those carb-laden pastas and breads, etc.). Yes, gluten can cause thyroid problems. Especially if you have Celiac Disease. I have Celiac Disease and had hypothyroidism until I was diagnosed and went gluten free. My thyroid is now normal. If you are gluten sensitive or have CD gluten can cause many problems. I had gallbladder inflammation stabbing gut pain, diarrhea , throwing up, anxiety, severe panic attacks, restless leg, insomnia, fatigue, brain fog, anemia, vitamin deficiencies, thyroid problems and depression. I thought I was going to die. All of that stopped after going gluten free. There are many symptoms caused by gluten. Lady, you need to do some research. Celiac IS autoimmune and WILL cause thyroid issues.
