@@CurlyChemistry hey beautiful! And when you do the video(s) on the fairies 🧚‍♀️ can you include AOC’s like if it’s even possible to *not have fairies as a naturalista? If either oil, leave in conditioner, or both together help lubricate the hair strands enough to minimize the fairies? If you can “un” knot the knot does it make sense to try that or just cut the hair right at the individual knot? So many questions about the fairies Sis, so many. Can’t wait for that video

Not after watching this video, Jan 1, 2023, will I NOT have a scalp routine. This is the beginning of the new me as I continue to learn how to care for my natural 4c hair. My evolution!

My current scalp routine is exfoliating weekly with my shampoo brush, plus using clays and/ or ayurveda powders that are cleansing and exfoliating (hibiscus, neem, cassia, and amla are my faves)! I try to use powders every 1-2 weeks; they can be so messy! Lol I also love to DRENCH my hair with tea rinses weekly, especially after shampooing. I sweat a LOT, so I spray my scalp with a tea or aloe juice mixed with water every 2-3 days. My hair is currently waist length and my eczema hasn't flared up on my scalp in months.

Hey Tonya, another great video! I started using fresh Aloe Vera as a pre-poo last wash day. I open the leaf and rub the gel on my scalp and hair. I also add an oil to my hair (Coconut oil, or hempseed oil, or castor oil, or sweet almond oil).I leave it on for 30 minutes to an hour and then rinse out and then shampoo. With this information from you today looks like I need to shampoo first and then use the Aloe Vera. On some wash days I use the Curlsmith Bond Salve which acts as a pre-poo. Other wash days I use the Curlsmith Scalp line which includes a pre-poo, a clarifying exfoliating shampoo, and a calming (very cool on a scalp) conditioner. I also use a scalp massager similar to the one you use. Last week I used a rinse by Koils by Nature: Stimulating Hair Growth Rinse with Apple Cider Vinegar. It's a nice rinse. Another nice one is Creme of Nature Argan Oil Clarifying Apple Cider Rinse. I recently purchased several different kinds of scalp scrubs (Texture ID, Eden Bodyworks, and Ouai), that I will be trying soon. 😄

CC you are hitting all my pain points, 1-dry itchy scalp, 2-exfoliation tools, 3-fairy knots (next vid). I have fine 4a-3c hair I'm trying to learn. I keep getting a lot of buildup by wash day. Also hairfall is high at times. I use a lot less product now and wash more often. I love aloe vera, but it can make my hair feel dry. When I add oil to seal it in, my scalp gets inflamed in 2-3 days. I will try a serum. TFS, You're the best that ever did it!

So far so good, I sweat in my head alot due to exercising but even with that it has been great, trying to grow my hair, and learning what it likes and don't like being low porosity and fine, its been a roller coaster. My scalp routine is never wear a shower cap and wash my hair once weekly shampoo and condition, and every other day I use a scalp oil treatment and sit under my hair steamer cap. I actually exfoliated my scalp yesterday but didn't know that was what I was doing. Thusly, I will be creating a scalp routine based off this video, I have some aloe vera leaf I had been avoiding because it clogged up my handheld blender last time any way thank you lady chemist! My scalp routine includes exfoliating during wash day. I usually pre poo with ACV and let sit to detox and clarify my curls 1-2 xs a month..but now I will also incorporate and rinse after conditioning as suggested in this video. I already use fresh aloe Vera leaf on my scalp and hair and even make a hair mask with it adding moringa powder, fenugreek powder and sea moss powder mixed with avocado and macadamia nut oil. I let that sit for an hour then do my conditioner then oil rinse as learned from your videos.

I do an onion juice treatment at least twice a month on alternate weeks. But if I feel an itch I do it weekly. I used to use it as a prepoo but I applied it to washed hair once and noticed that it is more effective. So I've used it that way since. The recipe is 1 small onion, 2 fingers of garlic, a thumb size of ginger, 1tiny scotch burner pepper. All grated, mixed together and juiced with a cheese cloth and applied to the scalp. If it's remaining it is also applied to the hair.

One of the things that I’ve implemented this year is biweekly scalp massages with either my Haitian black castor oil or the Inala power potion. Two things that I’m going to try from your video is the ACV rinses. So many people have talked about this. I have used ACV before, I just can’t stand the smell, but I’m willing to try it again. And the scalp brush from Ulta…I’m on the Ulta app as we speak…lol

Just made some clove water today and rinsed my hair and scalp after conditioning. Locked in the moisture with grease. Through the week will use castor oil and lavender water.

Hey beautiful. Learned something new…”after conditioner,” wasn’t prepared for that right there! Always grateful. Question - what do you use to indicate “Ph balance around 4.5” that you recommended? Please advise

Hey! If you're measuring a liquid for pH then you can use pH strips. If you're referring to your scalp, usually if you have a pretty healthy scalp more than likely the pH is acceptable, however once you start noticing issues with your scalp then the pH could be off and implementing these routines will help see an improvement.

I love watching you and learning about my hair care. I am 63 and have been experiencing alopecia on my crown so when you did the video on the Hawaiian oil I chose the macadamia oil and I made a mixture of that with Shea Olein plus vitamin E I must say my hair is very happy but more my face and skin love it even more those fine lines around my eyes are totally invisible my eyelids were starting to have cracked like wrinkles or something and my skin looks so fresh now the backs of my hands are so smooth the photo sensitive skin I experience now has fewer eruption as well as faster healing time, thank you

Thank you so much for your videos, they are so helpful. Quick question. Do Aloe vera gel or juice have any benefit for your actual hair, itself or is it best to use on the scalp?

I have seriously been doing my Apple cider vinegar rinse first! Like a prepoo to prep for shampoo. Did not think about doing it afterwards. Also Hask products has a scalp scrub with tea tree that is wonderful!

Hey, love your braids! I am currently using a prescription scalp oil. I also have a concoction of Rosemary essential oil lavender oil and peppermint oil in a base of jojoba oil being used for the same reason. I have alopecia and we're trying to stimulate growth. My dermatologist approved the essential oils to my amazement because many are clueless about anything other than prescription drugs.

I've been diagnosed with Alopecia as well. I wish that I had known about the oils. I spent so much money and time on oral, topical medication and shots in my scalp. I finally said, ENOUGH!! I don't want to give up hope.

That Pacifica scalp brush looks good, but I *highly recommend a seamless one.* This will prevent any bacteria from building up and _mold_ from occurring within the brush (especially the base). Sephora has a great one which I purchased in Autumn 2021 for $11 _shipped❣️_

Love this! Love your T-Shirt as well! Does it say, "YAHWEH?" My scalp routine now is doing a DIY exfoliating scrub that I also leave on for about 10 minutes before washing off. It's homemade pumpkin spice (cinnamon, cloves, allspice, nutmeg, and ginger), honey, and olive oil. I scrub it in for a few minutes before using it as a scalp mask before I shampoo! My scalp feels like it can breathe after this! Favorite Pre-Poo ever!

Rosemary and aloe water lightly massaged in every day. And thanks to you...acv every three weeks. It worked for my dandruff in only a week. This is murder on any particular styling though.
