Thank you so much for posting these videos! I'm in the middle of an art quilt for my grandson and working on sea grasses that have to undulate and my attempts have been failing so far. Now I have a better idea of how to continue.

Heidi, just watched both tutorials - really like your work. If you want to make the free motion process more easier, I highly recommend using the Supreme Slider. I’m not affiliated with the manufacturer, but I do A LOT of free motion and it eased the tension in my hands and shoulders as the fabric floats on the surface and I get a much more free flowing stitch.

I enjoyed both parts of this series. I’ve done the curvy piecing before but it was an ah ha moment to see you create the black and purple sections for the horizontal effect. And adding the rectangles gave a nice contrast to the curves. The closeup views of the quilting and the couching were smashing. That was inspiring for me. You have a real knack for creating complementary designs: beautiful spacing, sizing, staying within the seams, and consistent stitch length. Personally, I found the music distracting; I didn’t want to miss any narration so I didn’t mute it at first. Thank you for sharing your ideas and skills.

Hi . This is stunning work. Unless I missed something, did you use the same bobbin thread throughout, or did you change it to match the top thread?

Thank you. As long as the bobbin thread isn’t showing, I don’t bother changing. Adjusting the tension is usually the only thing needed to create the desired look. The only time it doesn’t work is if there is a strong contrast in color. Typically, I like using a grey bobbin thread.
