▷Ingredients(φ15cm round mold):
■Caramel
15g water
70g sugar
15g hot water
■Custard pudding
4 eggs
55g sugar
300g milk
200g heavy cream
2 tsp vanilla extract
■Sponge cake
1 egg
30g sugar
30g cake flour
10g milk
▷ How to make:
1. Make caramel. Put 70g of sugar and 15g of water in a pan, boil to the desired thickness, and remove from the heat.
2. Prepare a pot lid and add 15g of hot water to loosen the caramel (be careful not to burn it as it will scatter). Put in a mold.
3. Make a purine solution. Add 55g of sugar to 4 whole eggs and mix to cut the white body.
4. Put 300g of milk, 200g of fresh cream, and 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract in a pan and warm it and mix with the egg solution from ③.
5. Strain the pudding liquid.
6. Make a sponge. Add 30g of sugar to one whole egg and beat with a hand mixer until whitish.
7. Sift 30g of soft flour and add until the powder disappears.
8. Add 10g of milk and mix until uniform.
9. Put the pudding liquid into the mold containing caramel while filtering again, and put a sponge on it.
10. Bake for 20 minutes in an oven preheated to 160°C, lower the temperature to 150°C and bake for another 40 minutes.
11. Remove from hot water, remove crude heat and cool in refrigerator overnight.
12. Remove the sponge part from the mold with a knife and take it out of the mold.

I cannot love these videos enough. The precision, the aesthetics and the sheer sense of calm is very relaxing. Life just slows down for the 8 minutes or so while I watch every precise move and measurement. And the end with the coffee is almost as if I’m who she was cooking for 😂. Thank you. THANK YOU.

This video works even for a physics class: Taking advantage of the density for the final product is very underrated IMO. Here in Mexico, a popular variant of this cake is with chocolate sponge cake. It's usually half cake and half pudding. We call it "Chocoflán" o "Pastel imposible" (Imposible cake).

If you crack the eggs on a flat surface versus the edge of a bowl, you're less likely to get little shards of the egg shell

Just a small tip to everyone: you can place the dish atop the cloth inside the baking pan and carry that across the room and place it into the oven and *then* pour the hot water into the baking pan. It's safer and easier! 😉

@@bunbunmukkuri4718 Dude, I am simply trying to pass along a life hack that was taught to me years ago by a umm, let's see, who was it again? Oh, yes, I remember now..... He was a professional chef, you know, with Michelin stars? Ever heard of those? Yeah, I worked for him for a while. So, you know, you can get the same results if you put the water in the pan on the countertop or if you put the water in the pan once the pan is in the oven. I'm just trying to keep you from accidentally spilling water all over your kitchen floor or scalding your little dog. I am not saying her way is wrong, ya stupid sod.

カラメル作った後の鍋で牛乳沸かすのめっちゃわかる~ってなった。洗い物が減るかつ鍋の底が綺麗になるしこびりついてたカラメルも牛乳に溶けて有効利用できる。プロ的なこだわりがあるのかどうかは知らない、庶民だから。

One of the best "Wow" Custard/Flan Cake recipes! Easy to make, just the right sweetness, and tender cake. Personally, I would double up the cake ingredients. However, this might not be necessary if using the pan the size the recipe calls for. I used 8" round cake pan rather than 6" so the cake is a bit thin when done. Overall, this will be my go-to custard/flan cake from now on. Thank you for sharing the recipe! Cheers!

@@cherryday7528 My mom started baking tarts with various vanilla sponges and cream/jam between them, then some frosting/fondant and sometimes figurines made with fondant (they were really cute, but also hard to make), also typical spanish desserts and sweets (maybe you can try making some of your country ( ╹▽╹ ) ). Recently she has been trying to dessing her own cakes, like a chesnut one that even had some kind of ice cream inside, so It could have a mix of textures. Hope this can help you, I'm a non-native speaker so talking about specific things like cooking confuses me a lot, I don't even know if cake/tart have the same meaning (´-﹏-`;)

I made this last night and ate it today after lunch. I don't know what I did wrong that the cake part didn't brown (I even cooked it extra 30 mins but it just won't). Still, I like this recipe, so easy to follow and make, and it's not super sweet which I really love.

In my country, we call it "Qudret Qader", and it's hella DELICIOUS! I made it last week but unfortunately I over beaten the eggs of the custard and it made many fluffs that it floated on top of the thick cake batter so the cake wasn't baked at all until I opened the grill and it kinda got a little burn XD! This time I'll try your recipe and won't overbeat the eggs again XD!
