Entire truck rocked when loading the car. Of all the things you could forget to do turning on the parking brake shouldn't be one of them.

Chock the wheels on the truck when you load/unload cars to keep it from rocking back and forth against the transmission lock like it did in the video. Cool truck Rob.

Nice, but it needs two things. 1. Some type of coating on the bed, it's already rusting. Paint, powder coating or preferably a spray on bed liner. 2. Winch. A winch is much easier to control than driving a car up the ramp (especially if it's wet) and allows you to load broke down vehicles. It will also eliminate a lot of the rocking everyone is b*tchin about.

You should consider adding a winch to the bed just in case you ever have to haul/move disabled or broken down cars. The money saved would pay for the winch 100's of times over. Just my .02 cents. I like the truck though. I had no idea the tolls were that high in NYC for multiple axles. Just the money saved there will pay for the truck and modifications!

For 9k is a good conversion. Was O.T.R. truck driver and the tolls per Axel can be expensive and add up quick! Personally I would install a Good remote controlled Warn winch, add a perforated section covering the rear window mounted to the "Headache Rack", what is on the bed now should stop the car, But not anything else! Say like a strap from smashing your head! As far as a parking brake is concerned, I would upgrade to a hydraulic brake lock system which would lock all the wheels while loading. Upgrade the running lights, always good to be seen,not just the minimum required. Proper D.O.T. signage, even a custom vinyl wrap that's reflective.

I would get that diamond plate treated with some sort of coating if you plan on keeping this truck long term. Hell, just some bed liner would be fine. It's already started rusting.

Dope truck man. Love seeing unique trucks like this, and being able to haul exotic cars on it is a bonus too.

Set the park brake, it won't rock. Plus that's a lot of extra stress on the drivetrain. Looks cool.

great mod... i have the same truck but w 3 car hauler.

If you chock the front wheel of the truck, you gont get that wobbling forward and back motion. Makes it easier than putting it in park and stressing the trans break like that.

I second that parking break on is a must the ramps could slip out or tip any thing. Also is super bad for the trans motor mounts ext and generally safer if some one happens to be standing on the truck.

The question is if you can haul a broken down ferrari 360 on it?

I've heard that one of the guys forgot to strap the car down properly and the car ran into the rear windshield / panel. You could have put some old used beefy sport tires there, at least two of them to cushion it in case that happens, you still can ;)

These are the standard across Europe. Normally modified into Ford Transits or other 3500kg vans. With the rig on a single axle 3.5ton van gets you a ~1600kg load weight which is enough for most cars here. You can safely load more but it is technically illegal due to the way our vehicle classes are set up (any more than a GVW of 3.5ton then its a commercial vehicle with more safety & tax requirements).

You could have a stinger installed and haul 2 at a time. Can put a ball on the stinger to use a car trailer as well. It's all about the options...

I like it but I'd want a debris, wind, and rain deflector mounted on the top back of the cab. Additionally, with the long extension past the rear wheels you've got to be careful entering hilly steep areas too.

I want to build a 22 foot, enclosed version of this, but with a small apartment in the front end, quad cab with overhead bunk, so it'll be a Class C RV/ enclosed car hauler.

You should put wheel chocks under the pickups tires as well, the Lamborghini almost collided with the front of the flatbed.

Ouch, you NEED to be using the parking brake, or at least have somebody on the service brakes, I totally understand for the purpose of the video being shot that you may have forgot, but that parking pawl inside the transmission will not last too long with movement like that.
