Very sweet build! I'm not a fan of the double chain motors noise but they do have many positives & especially for carbon frames. A better chainline is a HUGE positive. I absolutely love your 8ah 50amp battery. High power for any frame is rare. Wish I had bought one but the 6ah 30amp pack was too good a deal. I don't believe you about it climbing walls. The tires aren't sticky enough!😂 I have taken a solemn oath to only commute on private roads;)

Awesome custom build! Marin Full Suspension Carbon 2 with CYC Stealth sounds like a dream ride. We sent you an email, take a look.

Beautiful bike and build. Too bad the rear shock layout limits battery size.
@JoLe19912 ай бұрын
the scott full suspension mtb's with the integrated rear shock have a lot more space for an adequate battery. you pull 50A from this tiny thing, the voltage crashes to the bottom instantly. then better go with medium drain lipos

Good luck with that rear cassette. It will be toast after about 10/15 rides

It is very interesting that bike weighs 48 lbs. I'm rocking a IronHorse SGS pro downhill bike with 2 batteries totaling 39AH, running the gen 4 pro and my bike is at 54lbs. 26 inch front wheel with a 24 inch rear. I believe the frame was made in 2004 and the frame is the heaviest part of my bike.

I agree I think it was lighter than that

you should have shown the battery clearance with the shock fully compressed

Awesome bike and set up, I would just want a bigger battery and add an extra for going long distance. Distance with ebikes I believe is what people will be looking for now that more bike paths are expanding and going out many miles! Hopefully they will start to add in charging stations!

I'm not sure how far you're riding but this battery should do at least 10 miles of HARD riding on high assist (or throttle). Much more mileage if you're in keeping with analog biker speeds or not depending as much on the assist. It's small enough that a second can fit easily in a backpack (or under the saddle if you don't have a dropper post).
@kryptonite79362 ай бұрын
@@michaelsprinzeles4022 Around 52 miles round trip, so, definingly need much more battery compacity.
@michaelsprinzeles40222 ай бұрын
@@kryptonite7936 Indeed you do. 2 might eek out 52 miles, IF you barely use the assist.

Very nice. Mid drive that works in Carbon fiber frames. I would use a bigger battery and on the top tube if this were my bike.

Why would you want to make it more top heavy

I like the idea of an 8hr battery because it is small an inconspicuous. And most rides are short distances. But what would you do if you wanted to have more range at times. Would you recommend just buying a 2nd battery and carrng it with you?
@BramBiesiekierski2 ай бұрын
Build multiples of the battery and swap them out as you go. But 72v / 20s would be better

Hey, that's a great build! Where can I get a battery that size? I have a 2014 Santa Cruz heckler that won't fit a large battery so I have to carry it in a backpack Thanks!!

So if I'm able to to hold 23 mph on flats on a pedal bike, can this help me go 40 mph steadily. I'm trying to replace my 40mph kaabo scooter. Also how water proof are these setups typically?

Isn't the crush factor still an issue when converting carbon fibre bike frames? The 'mounting bar' contacts the frame from the top so wouldn't there be pressure on the frame when the motor torques to drive the chain?
@JohnnyNerdOut2 ай бұрын
Technically yes there is still pressure from the top. But nowhere near the lateral forces that would be from a standard install from a bafang etc.
@skunkchasing2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the clarification. Being that the stealth is CYC would the photon be safe for a carbon frame conversion?
@seanchadwick61822 ай бұрын
What battery did you have hidden in that bag? I have the stealth and wouldn't mind something a bit smaller.

48 pounds? Try pedaling - cycling with a battery is for narcissists.
