If the motor heat is trapped inside, can't you just put thermal pads or thermal paste in between the outer shell and motor shell so that the heat can properly transfer to the outer shell and dissipate through the fins? Is CYC doing this going forward?

I am converting my recumbent trike to ebike baufeng 1000w front hub motor. The challenges have been immense considering I'm doing it from my wheelchair. But it looks like a 1909 Indian with a headlamp from a 1907 Henderson motorcycle. I had to convert to disk brakes on all three wheels because the 203mm front disk was not enough. I will eventually run it off my galvanic reactor + solar cells and have continuous electrical power. DOC

So if I'm able to to hold 23 mph on flats on a pedal bike, can this help me go 40 mph steadily. I'm trying to replace my 40mph kaabo scooter. Also how water proof are these setups typically?

Came here for the butt wax, but stayed for the knowledge. Just at the beginning for learning if I do want to go in on something similar for my 2017 Giant Roam 0 with an xl frame. I love the bike, this seems like a great, fun project. This is a great channel and looks like I will be wasting lots of time watching when I should be working. Cheers!

I think you hit the nail on the head. This is exactly the way it is with computer technology. I sold laptops for what was known as a 'whitebox' manufacturer. There were really only 3 or 4 different laptop manufacturers at the time, but dozens of different companies branding them as their own. In fact, the evolution of the eBike industry is quite similar to the way the computer industry evolved from the 1980's.

Another problem I found with my hardtail titanium bike that carbon may share is that It's very flexy. You can just push on the side of the motor gently and watch the whole bottom bracket flex. Normally without all the extra weight and torque this is the good thing about carbon/ti but becomes too much of a good thing.

My gear shift sensor kit only came with one little addon piece of plastic, the piece you added at 1:39, not the piece seen at the top end of the cable housing in your left hand seen at 1:51. No kits on amazon seem to have that piece. Am I going to run into issues not having that piece/pieces?

I’m working on this same project but need spacers & longer screws to mount the motor bracket & keep it stabled . Where is the best place to find those kind of screws & spacers ? Home Depot ?

@@JohnnyNerdOut Thank you , I found longer M6 screws at Home Depot but couldn’t find any spacers so I’m most likely gonna stack up some washers to space it out for now . should I take off the derailer & get a bigger chain or add a link ? It looks a little tight, hopefully it doesn’t snap on me while riding .

Hi Johny, is it possible to connect these displays to bike with bafang hub motor? What dicates what display can be used? My grandfather bought entry level hub motor bike, which has only led display KD59E with 5pin round connector. I would like to change it for something that shows speed or even better calculate range. Thank you. Have a great day!

Great video! I firmly believe that investing in a bike GPS tracker is essential for any bicycle valued over $1,000. For just $99 upfront and a modest $4 monthly fee (the cost of a single cup of Dunkin' Donuts coffee), you're getting a level of security and peace of mind that far surpasses the protection offered by a bike chain alone. Considering the potential loss and inconvenience of a stolen bike, this investment is a no-brainer. The tracker provides real-time location updates and increased security, ensuring your valuable bike is always protected and easily traceable.

I missed the show again last night. Big decisions are being made, and I think I can crank up a Windows putter for that @#$%^&* software they haven't figured out yet, but the Windows USB I have, has its numbers with it, so I should be able to crank it up after some hell and high water from Microsoft.

I believe it was calculated at 1hp = 750W ....fastest pedal bike they said 28 mph and caluclated it took 1 hp of effort ...so everyone could pedal as fast as the fastest human at the time .

For the folding bike I believe you mean Zizzo . They make the Urbano folding bike. Max load is 240lb. Might be good for you, but for those over 200 pounds it might not be good for because of Max Load after you add motor and battery. Zizzo also makes the Forte which Max Load is 300 pounds. This would work better for me at 215 lbs. Either one would weigh less than 45 pounds with mid drive and battery. Motor like ToSeven DM02 and a relatively small battery. I would probably use a battery that I could attach under the seat. Would buy 2 batteries incase I want a longer ride.

The UK government are considering raising the 250 watt limit up to 500 Watts and allowing a throttle control, the current 15.5 mph will still be kept. BROMTON are against the new proposals.

Just because your hub motor is rated at 1000 watts doesn't mean it will always deliver that power. Proper controller setup is essential. For instance, when I needed 1000 watts to climb a hill with one motor, it would get very hot. After adding a second motor, I used only 300 watts from each, climbing the same hill without overheating. If you have two geared hub motors, you don't need to run them simultaneously. They have freewheels, so it's safe to run one motor and have the second kick in when needed. For example, the front motor can activate when power usage exceeds 500 watts. This setup is straightforward to implement.

My first e-bike was a hub motor and I loved it. It's not only the chains but my old bike I had my derailer snap off, my back casket break, my peddles break, my crank arm break and my chain break. All those situation I was able to keep using my bike as my car till my replacement parts came in nor did it make me late for work or wherever i was going. I also think it much easier for someone who this might be their first bike. It's gives you less complexity but automatic cars beat of out gear shift for a reason, most people prefer less complicity. It does makes you over travel slightly slower which again for people new to bikes is probably a good thing plus the time difference on an hour commute on my bike going 32km or 22km only changes about 10 minutes at most. It is however, like you said, much harder to get fixed and most bike shops don't want to touch conversations bikes parts so truing wheels and such is going to be hard, your basically going to have to learn yourself unless you can find a local conversation builder. It's also EXPERNSIVE to have spare wheel for back up for or the spring/fall time when switching back from studs and not daily is a good thing to be able to do.

I have a YT enduro bike. I want an Ebike but dont have the money to spend on a complete e-bike. I was hoping to find something not so heavy and don't mind a 250w motor or if there is something more that isn't so bulky. plus what is the thinnest battery to look for? Thank you for your video, and do you sell to consumers as well?
