Custom Rifle 6BR VS Rabbits & Foxes || Thermal Hunting || ATV Hunt

Rabbit hunting with my new custom Tikka T3 chambered in 6mm BR. This was a quick overnight zip up to a property I hunt in the New England of NSW, Australia. I had the ATV Quadbike in tow and a few tools to thin a few problem rabbits out. The rabbits have been doing a bit of damage to a freshly sown crop of oats and lucerne, This video like most of mine is purley pest control. I'm not shooting them for the pot.
As usual there are always a few troublesome foxes around to hammer as well.
You can probably tell but I'm very happy with how the new 6BR is working out. The carbon fibre stock is very comfortable to shoot in all field positions I encounter. And the carbon fibre wrapped barrel is fantastic so far. Zero complaints running either 75 or 87 grain V-Max's through it.

The 17HMR is a false impression unfortunately. The scope microphone is behind a waterproof screw cap. Muffles the crap out of it. Glad you liked the video 👌

@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK That makes sense . I actually thought the barrel may have had a temporary suppressor . 600 ml waterbottle full of steel wool works a treat , but affects accuracy over 150 metres . That was an awesome 6mm shot over 280 . Keep up the great work mate .

I really like your channel bro. Love all of it. I have a .17 Remington. It is my favorite varmint rifle out of the ones I have now or have owned. It is wicked on rabbits! I used a 300 win mag for a rabbit and fox cull one time because it was the only riffle I had available at the time…. Now that got expensive! Even with hand loads hahaha but man was it fun😁

It's a fantastic cartridge. Sky was the limit on this build for the cartridge. Yet the humble 6BR was the choice. Its not all about smoking hot velocity.

Another great video Nathan. I’ve just bought a new pulsar trail xq50 , can I expect the same sort of clarity from it as your thermion. Got for good price but no range finder . Was thinking of mounting a Le-032 laser works range finder on . Have you every considered one for your thermion . Cheers wayne

Nah for the range you can get clarification and enough ID on a fox it's within the capabilities of my rifle. I can see a RF would be handy but I can normally squirrel something with my Leica RF and the laser on my scanner.

Great Vids and shooting mate. What stock is on the Tikka. I have a Bravo chassis on my Tikka CTR 260 using Hornady ELD match for all my hunting in the Hunter Valley and is a tack driver.

It's a similar case capacity but the 22/250 shoots lighter bullets, faster. That's the simple version anyway.

Thermal spotlight? Do you mean my thermal scanner and screen or my thermal scope. There is a video on my scope up on the channel. Also a few scanner videos and my quad setup if you have a dig around.
