0:00 Intro
0:04 I have a feeling there's an ECU fault as it still sounds as if the injectors are working when they shouldn't be
0:22 I've seen some bad radiators but none that crumble this easily
0:29 Well the customer seems to have described it perfectly
0:41 Surprisingly these wheel weights haven't come off, can't beat duct tape
0:48 This vehicle is basically written off at this point. Customer really should've got at pre-purchase inspection
1:08 You know the brakes haven't been checked in a while when the piston it hitting on the brake rotor
1:14 Apparently this was the 3rd or 4th time this tech had done this
1:26 Whatever mechanic put this on the lift is crazy I would not trust those rails to collapse with all that rust
1:48 Customer somehow missed the massive split in the tire but at least they knew to bring it in
1:54 Not what you want to see coming out of the oil pan
2:09 This was a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe and the customer had recently purchased the vehicle
2:18 Quite the interesting steering wheel electrical fault
2:39 Initially I thought this was rod knock but likely a tensioner has failed
2:52 Unlike the other customer who didn't get an inspection this one got saved from a bad purchase

Someone actually had a pre-purchase inspection? Be still my heart. Best money they ever spent that’s for sure. Spending thousands of dollars and won’t get a pre-purchase inspection? Just shaking my head.

I got a pre-purchase inspection done on the last car I bought, in spite of being a commercial aircraft mechanic. It is worth paying to have a factory trained tech inspect it because they're going to be more knowledgeable about the specific model than I am and all models have their quirks.

Both of our vehicles (2015 and 2016) have been Krown rust proofed every year since new. We are in the salt belt, but our vehicles still look like new. Yes, a pre-purchase inspection is money well spent! There are a lot of crooks out there! Watch out!

As for the tape on the wheel weights I do this to both my winter and summer tires as I have lost wheel weights in the past. I got the idea from motorcycle racing. You must so this (one of many rules) to your race bikes to pass inspection before heading out on the track. so both my track bikes are like this too.

GL trying to find someone these days who actually knows how to properly balance a wheel. I see so many these days with like a dozen weights stuck to them. I was taught how to balance a wheel from an aviation perspective where you actually can balance a wheel with no weights at all because of production tolerances being much tighter. But on a road vehicle, more than one or two weights is a bad balance job. In the old days, when techs were better trained, you'd have a single weight on any given car or motorcycle wheel, crimped onto the rim.

0:14 The ignition barrel or the switch are most likely bad and not shutting the power to the ECU. When he disconnected the coil pack it instantly started misfiring like crazy, so the coil pack was still getting power. It's nice seeing an Opel Corsa in one of your videos. 😁

I routinely take my car to a mechanic for oil changes. I also wash it at the auto wash that sprays the underside of the car as you pull in when it snows and salt is put down. Unfortunately my AC compressor decided to take a shit but it lasted fourteen years so I can't complain too much. Now I just wait for it be done and pay the thirteen-hundred to get it back with a new compressor.

0:24 reminds me of my old truck. Went to replace what I guess was the original radiator hose from the 1980s and just barely touched the radiator and it did this. Yep, time for a new radiator. Too bad the pandemic had just hit and not a dang radiator for sale in the entire USA. Took until 2023 to find one, then health issues are keeping me from replacing it. Poor truck has been sitting waiting to get back on the road since 2020. I've driven it two miles since 2018 lol
