0:00 Intro
0:05 Mechanic said: "Thankfully just 2 oil changes with an engine purge and she rolled out that night." This is from the same mechanic who submitted the first clip in this video - • Customer States Low Co...
0:30 Whoever installed the caliper never connected the brake hose to the line. That's scary to see.
0:40 Sway bar links weren't properly installed, bolts for shock were installed upright and upside down (looks unprofessional), and the cam bolts for the lower control arms were missing the washers.
1:00 They also lost a bolt for one of the battery terminals.
1:16 Customer ended up driving over a pretty big plastic bag. Watch out for those on the road!
1:29 The mechanic said it smelled awful!
1:34 Just saying what the customer told the mechanic. I'm going to guess that a transmission possibly fell out of the box of a truck. Scary!
1:40 Surprisingly still had air in the tire when it came in.
1:49 Customers' complaint was that they add a shimmy while driving.
1:54 The mechanic said the engine was blown up, transmission, and also the supercharger! Which came to a $42,000 bill.
2:09 Update to this clip - • Customer States Just C...
2:19 This has to do with the electric-powered steering assist mechanism on the column. There is an electric motor in the column that provides torque to help steer. Without it, you would need both hands to turn the wheel. These assist mechs used to be hydraulic, now they're electric.
There is a sensor that reads the torque applied to the steering wheel and commands the motor to provide assist. In this case, it's not reading properly, so the torque command is all over the place, and the motor tries to follow. Like rapidly turning it on at max torque and back off again, many times per second. This could be as easy as a software fix or as complicated as a full column replacement.
2:31 The mechanic didn't mention was caused this issue. But let us know what you think it might be.
2:45 No more info regarding this photo.
3:00 Extra info from the person who filmed the clip - "Limited edition 2020 Hellcat Charger with less than 1,000kilometers on the odometer dynoed at my company's annual car show in august of 2020. The transmission failed because the operator didn't dyno the car properly. He did eventually get a warranty on the transmission and got his car back in new condition."
3:36 Outro. Thanks for watching!

I like to do my own mechanic work and I often look up diagrams and How-To's but there's a line of common sense I have where if something looks overly complex (even if it isnt to a pro I'm still a novice at best) or has anything to do with electrical, I'll shell out the bucks to have someone take care of it for me. I just hope I don't go to some of these "other shops"

Don't drink and tinker. I once did a trans fluid and filter on my 08 Ranger, my favorite vehicle I've ever owned. I added bottle after bottle, and the trans fluid never registered. Engine did have a new but very faint sound to it. "Where the hell is all this fluid going?" I kept thinking. Then it hit me hard. Drained it out of the engine and started over. No apparent harm done.

"Sounds like a dolphin" surprisingly accurate! I remember a customer lady dropping off with a complaint that it sounds like a lamb bleating under the car. She clarified, BLEATING, not BLEEDing. The fuel pre-pump in the tank was bad, making the main electric pump under the driver seat cavitate and go mmeeEEEH-EH-Eh-eh-eh! over and over. It amazes me how many customers hire me at $144 an hour to diagnose a noise but when you ask what it sounds like, when it happens, and what part of the car it comes from, they answer like a 5yo afraid of getting scolded. "Idoh-knooooowwwww?" over and over to every question. Cars are incredibly complicated machines, that can make a SYMPHONY of noises while going down the road. When you're getting ready to pay someone to fix a sound that's bothering you but you can't describe the sound, expect to pay the mechanic for fixing a different noise that HE heard. Funny how at that stage of the process, many people will suddenly be able and willing to make the EXACT noise and clearly state the area of the car it comes from and the conditions when it occurs!

When I was younger I installed a new battery on my 78 Bonneville. Of course it was one of those silly side post batteries. While changing the battery I dropped the metal part of the terminal and couldn't find it, so I figured it must have hit the ground (I was working in the grass). I found a new terminal and put it back in and thought nothing of it. Driving a few miles down the road I heard a loud thudding noise and then all the sudden the engine started knocking. All of the oil had drained out of the engine somehow... Upon further inspection, the metal terminal had dropped into the fan shroud and gotten fired into the oil filter on my car, causing a huge oil leak. The car was never the same afterwards. When I was young I had stopped by a friend of the family full service gas station. For young people full service was someone from the gas station would pump your gas check your oil sometimes even inspect your wiper blades. The owner and I was sitting inside just talking when his new employee came in and asked him where do we keep extra motor oil? He asked her why that the stand at the pumps have oil on them. She said I know it wasn't enough. So he gave her a case of oil and she went back to the car. A few seconds later he really thought something wasn't right so he got up to check out what was coming on. She undid the oil cap and was attempting to put enough oil into the engine to where it came up to the oil cap. Lucky enough he caught this mistake the customer was mad at first until he realized that now he was getting a free oil change. So we all push the car into the shop and pulled the drain plug. It filled up one of his oil catch pans and in the end realize that she had put 20 quarts of oil into the engine. After refilling it to its proper level and change the oil filter the car smoked for a while and cleared up.

Reminds me, I was yesterday just standing beside my town's square and looking at the road with passing cars and all of a sudden a BMW comes around and you could clearly hear something of a big part under the car (not the pipe) was very loose as it sounded like there was something hitting the car and the driver seemed to care less. I mean wow, I just thought how can you just ignore that something so big seems to be very loose and could potentailly end up ruin the car. And just after him came an Audi where a terrible screeh came from the wheels. Man, some people really just seem to not take care about there cars. Especally since BWM & Audi's are very known to be very pricey in repairments.
