If you're going to keep your binder bar in the cab with you it needs to be secured , if bad stuff happens you don't need it under foot or flying around in the cab with you, I've been there and done that , a couple of broom stick clips to stand it in corner of cab , be safe

The last time that I had a large delivery of lumber I used a couple stakes and cardboard signs. I staked out where I wanted the load placed. Worked great.

Now it's a crappy concrete wall... After scratching it will be for the customer build of himalayan rocks, constructed by naked virgins in full moon nichts..

There is literally nowhere this guy could safely put the load on the property due to the retaining wall surrounding it - short of manhandling every bag. And that is what this lady wanted. She wanted somebody else to load the mulch up the stairs.

I had a good one one time. Going to install a unit heater in a garage it is about 2'x3'x2' and weighs like 90 pounds. We get to the job and this customer has a bunch of old restored cars in the garage and directly below where the unit heater is supposed to go he has some car that he was telling us was from 1940 something and said it is one of twenty in the world. Only 2' of clearance to either side to setup a ladder, then you would have to reach over top the car to do any work. The customer and his wife were out there showing us where everything was and I told them they are going to have to move the car because I am not going to work above that thing. They asked me why and I said what if I drop this piece of equipment or one of my tools on this car. The wife said to me in a condescending tone "Do you plan on dropping something on my husbands car?" I said I didn't and she said "Then why can't you work above it?". Eventually convinced him to back out his car lol but made us have a later start to our day since he had about 8 other cars blocking the front of this garage that he had to move first.

Yeah set it on the wall will be fine. Until 2 weeks later you get sued for the price of the whole wall needing to be replaced. Seen it so often it’s sick. Nice video! Good job being honest!

Sales people will tell a customer ANYTHING to make a sale, including assembly of furniture, etc. I used to drive truck and people will tell you "they said", I tell them, you don't see a salesman here do you? They say no, and I tell them the same thing you do, it's curb side delivery! I'm just a driver (independent), I don't carry tools or do assembly, PERIOD!

I’m all abt deliveries. I cover all bases. I had a quarter load of mulch delivered. I had a tarp, location, and early vs late. I moved it all within the day and did so solo. That wall is ancient.

Hey man if I had an order and you were delivering I would make sure to have a spot for you to drop orders on the property to keep them save but keep you safe if someone comes flying down the road and hits the truck but not you. And plus I would leave something for you as a thank you like idk maybe a drink or water or something you like as like food or drinks.

The Moffett forklift. Fellow drivers at work hate having her at the back because of the weight when they come back with the empty bed trailer. Plus, we runs electric forklift and got used to not smell diesel fumes. We nicknamed her "La moufette" (the skunks) which sounds almost like "Moffett" but with the smell idea. XDDD

The store (Home Depot?) needs to stop giving customers exact times of delivery i.e. telling lies! Everyone should know that deliveries rarely go to plan. It creates conflict where none should exist and gives the driver unnecessary grief. Also Home Depot should stipulate that goods over a certain weight and/or size require a signature of an adult upon delivery. For smaller/lighter goods they must agree to a photo as evidence of delivery where no-one's there to accept delivery.

Saw the street you were driving on and thought wow that looks pretty big to me..then you pointed out the tight street on the left 😂 wow that wasn’t a street, it was a driveway! My driveway here is wider than that! But my street is narrow and only has enough room for 1 way traffic for the weekly trash truck if cars are parked on both sides of the street.

If someone explains to you that they aren't going to do something because it will risk damaging *your* property, why would you not be thankful the delivery person was thinking about your property for you (and their company's money that would have to pay for the damage)?!? Why argue it?? First, I would be home for this type of delivery. Second, I'm going to trust the person that does the job daily that if they think their equipment could damage my property doing something I requested, I'd be satisfied coming up with an alternative solution.

I totally understand not wanting to take customers' BS in these situations. However, being on the customer side of these deliveries a couple times myself, I can tell you that Lowe's and Home Depot NEVER give accurate information regarding delivery date, time, and location. I was very frustrated during my deliveries due to this, but never took it out on the delivery guys as I knew they had no control over these miscommunications. Still sucks to be a customer though. That's why I now deal with local lumber yards instead of L or HD.

I deliver equipment,and people will tell you where they want it, and then complain because you damaged their yard or road. The problem comes when they want it repaired at your cost. You can even tell them that you don't feel comfortable of unloading,because it might cause damage, but insist that you do it. In our contract, it states that we aren't responsible for any damage due to loading or unloading to personal property. It holds up in court, we have never lost a case. Not all people are conns, but you have people that are. Setting that load where she wanted at first could have caused damage, and she may have been the type where she wanted it repaired on your expense. Have it put on your contact, and get them to sign it before delivery. It will hold up in court, if they try and sue you.

Some people just don't know better or try to do stupid shit to screw someone else over. I get people constantly asking me to drive onto their grass and 99% of the time I will refuse because I don't want them to try and screw me for damaging their grass. Id rather walk the extra few feet and/or mildly annoy the customer by not taking such a risk.

I used to work in a steel shop making all kinds crazy stuff. Our delivery driver had to put up with a lot of B.S. from customers about where he was dropping off. He did not have a Moffet. We had a huge fork lift. He liked coming to us. He didn't have to do anything. But some of the customers that I see you dealing with are the same as what he had to deal with. His company policy was the customer unloads the steel. They wanted him to take his truck into to stupid places. These dumbasses would order huge pieces of steel. And thought the driver was unloading it. HaHaHa!!! Nope. If you gotta steel shop. Figure out how you are gonna move that s&$t.

Yeah...I wear an orange apron (I am the plumbing and electrical guy in my store) and I just wince when I see your videos, brother... ☹ I think if the people in my community actually knew about the horse sh*t the employees get from the management they wouldn't spend all that money there...They would go to Lowes or Rona or Home Hardware...But then again we have seen a LOT of entitled Karens and Darrens everywhere..I had a guy storm out of my department because I asked him a question about the thing he was seeking.. a "Sewage pipe"..and when I asked him what size he wanted he got angry...he screamed " You know...a house sized one"...so the usual size is a 4 inch pipe in PVC, but Darren wasn't into listening to all that nonsense...he just screamed "See..this is what you people do!!!" and off he went to seek out my management..and later we all laughed at his ignorance and impatience...as did the contractors who also tried to educate the man...because I specialise in essential components in the home...I earn a bit more and I am sought out for what I know...but I constantly get people who think DIY stands for just ask the person in the orange apron how to do it...no..the slogan is "You can do it...we can help" means just that...not "We will do it for you..as you demand..regardless of anything..and you just stand and demand we do it just as you ask, regardless of how ridiculous the request is!"... If a customer wants to say "I'm responsible for any damage", you gotta have a way to protect yourself if he changes his mind or is lying...a camera is great but a contract signed by the fool would be great too...and the HD has to stop promising the world to people just to get them down the line to the next apron wearing associate with their complaint..policy is easy to enforce if everyone is on the same page and willing to do uncomfortable tasks...like telling an angry customer "No", regardless of how angry reality makes them... I will be really frank here and say in my particular case , I am in a place where there are not a lot of jobs to choose from; and so I gotta suck it up and smile when I want to run..but that's on me because I chose to live here..I am just not good in retail... But you are right..and I love watching your vids...it makes my work days better for viewing them... 🙂

More than half the things you complain about is part of the trucking job usually... Like backing up into tight areas and doing whatever it takes to make your customers happy. I've heard you say "it's only curbside delivery. So that's really where my job is done", about 100 times. Look on the positive side of things and life will be a little happier. Not everyone is out to get you. You have her on camera saying put it there, so you won't be held liable in court, if it came to that... If it did happen to me and it went bad, I'd laugh and say "well, I told ya, but you said put it there anyway,have a good day"...
