I took some time to customize my black on black XS-DJ707 LTBL ProX Live Performance Gear flight case for my Roland DJ-DJ 707M. These easy simple mods to made it MUCH better for my workflow and added some unique flair. 👌🏻

Great video Rachel. I love the mod to the shelf and I can totally relate to the wrist resting on the metal, could eventually lead to a wrist injury. Funny you posted this video because I just received a pro-x flight case for my DDJ-SR2 controller for small outdoor events. My mod consisted of putting the Shure BLX/PG58 wireless receiver underneath the controller, I’m surprised you didn’t put your EV wireless receiver underneath their to save even more time. The Shure fit perfect underneath since it has internal antennas.
@DJRachelLynch4 жыл бұрын
DJ J Tech the only reason why I didn’t install the wireless mic is because I have 3 controllers and I need to be able to easily grab and go mics and such depending on what setup I bring. Otherwise I would have.

DJ Rachel you’re just like me with 3 controllers! MC7000 with Audio Technica ATW-1322 dual wireless in the rack space underneath. DDJ-800 with one Shure BLX24R/SM58 and one BLX/PG58 DDJ-SR2 with another single Shure wireless set but just got done ordering the Sennheiser XSW 1-825 dual wireless since the space underneath is big enough! I need an intervention hahaha

Hi Rachel, I like that your lovin’ the 707M 😊 It was going to be the next investment in my DJ setup sometime in the next couple of months. That was until Denon announced the Prime 2 and the Go recently and now I’m a little bit undecided. Is there any possibility of you doing an in depth review of some of the best features of the 707 from the perspective of a “working” mobile DJ please? If I understand correctly it has something similar to the “zone out” feature on the Prime? I also saw a video of the anti feedback feature which was impressive! If you could find the time to give us all you opinion on this unit I’m sure it would be greatly appreciated by a lot of the DJ community 👍 Thanks DJ Gaz (UK)
@DJRachelLynch4 жыл бұрын
Gadgetman Gaz I will absolutely do this for you. I think the Roland 707M is VERY well rounded for the mobile DJ. It’s like the Swiss army of controllers. It does have the zone out you mentioned and great mic inputs.
@thedjgazza4 жыл бұрын
DJ Rachel That’s great news! Very much looking forward to it 👍 You’ve already converted me to Ape Labs for most of my lighting needs so I’m hoping that I’ll be suitably impressed with the 707M and to make it the next DJ “treat” for myself 😁 Keep up the good work with all your great videos! DJ Gaz

Great stuff, Rachel! I'm thinking of switching from my Denon MC6000 to this controller. But, I am a 19 inch rack case guy. I have my wireless mic system, power conditioner and connector panel all mounted below my controller. The Roland won't fit in a traditional rack case. How do you plug or where do you keep your wireless system? I try to connect as little as possible, so having everything pre-wired is key for me. Plus, it makes for a clean look. I was thinking of racking my other components in a separate case and then patching it with short cables to the Roland case, maybe by way of another connector panel. Thoughts? Ideas?

This is an older video. I’ve since moved on from this flight case to an all in one booth where my controller and gear is permanently mounted in the top. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/iNyoapxkzcCsXZs.html

Good morning Rachel I am also using the DJ-707M but I find I have to always adjust my trim because the when I load a track it becomes extremely high so I have to turn my trim button all the way up and all the way down before I can the trim to a normal level. This is driving me nuts. Please note I have tried auto+remember gain setting, I also tried just the auto in the settings and still does not work. Do you have any suggestions at all. Thanks

Hi Rachel what dj software do you use with the Roland 707M. If it is virtual dj do you find the wave form small. I use the Roland 707M but I find the wave form are small unless I turn the trim really high and then it goes into the red, which is no good. Virtual DJ has been unable to provide me with a solution to this. Are you having this issue?
@DJRachelLynch4 жыл бұрын
DJ Kirk I use VDJ2020. The wave form size has nothing to do with the controller you’re using. The size of the wave form can be adjusted within the software. There are several skin options. Have your tried messing around with those? Thanks for checking this out!
@RT-dc9hm4 жыл бұрын
Hi you posted that you have 3 different controllers. Can I ask why? Doesn’t it mess you up when you switch around?
@DJRachelLynch4 жыл бұрын
RT I have a MCX800 this is my large controller for club gigs and performance based events where I want the look and feel of a larger platter. Its my favorite unit in o mix on. It’s about 90lbs in the flight case so I only take it when necessary. I also have a Roland 707m. Just picked this up over the fall of 2019. It’s a great middle man. It’s not as large as the MCX8000 but large enough where it feels good to mix on. It has a TON of inputs and up to 4 microphones. This is my go to for smaller bars, gyms, and events where I don’t feel like dragging out my larger unit. I can get in and get out with ease. My 3rd controller is a Denon MC6000MK2. It’s very small and a beast. It’s my backup unit and home controller to practice on. Virtual DJ is amazing with all 3 of these. It automatically switches the sound card so all 3 are plug and play. It’s no hassle at all. 🙂

Do you keep your wireless mic receiver in the prox case?
@DJRachelLynch4 жыл бұрын
Because I have three different controllers I don’t rack mount anything so that I can take what wireless stuff I need depending on what I decide to use.
@wildstyle5093 жыл бұрын
question... if you had to install XLR outputs and Powercon on your case, would you put them on the back or the front? just wondering... if in the back, your guest could see the cables coming out of the case.. but if you put them on the front, they don't see anything.. whats your take on this? just curious what your thoughts are.
@DJRachelLynch3 жыл бұрын
DJBoomer509 No right or wrong here. I’ve seen both. Do you use a facade? If so it’s a non issue. The front would make hiding the cables a bit easier, but if you have a rack mount mic or power conditioner you might fit more going out the back. That’s why I say it’s really about what makes sense for your work flow. I do just fine coming out the back of mine and running the table along the sides of my flight case. I use the handles to keep things anchored.
@wildstyle5093 жыл бұрын
@@DJRachelLynch cool. I run my cable along the side too, but was thinking of doing a mod to my case. Thanks for the input! I appreciate it!

Hi Rachel. Nice lights. I have a question. I have a NS7, but without slide out board. I have the metals where laptop is placed. I currently use a usb led light, which takes away usb from laptop. Any other suggestions. Thank you.
@DJRachelLynch3 жыл бұрын
Just to clarify, you’re not using a flight case? You’re using a laptop stand? I’m not sure what you mean by “I have the metals where laptop is placed.” If you don’t want to loose a USP port for your led lights, I’d recommend getting a USB splitter, using a separate power pack or battery operated light. I hope that answered your question.
