Great work as usual. I wish McFarlane would update their design philosophy. The problem is that they sculpt everything first then hack the figure up to add in their design scheme. They need to take an integrated approach where the original sculpt is done with the articulation already accounted for. That would solve 99% of the weirdness of their figures.

Wow, I had my doubts about the arms, but they came out really well. Awesome improvement over the original ones. The ankle joints look good too, seamless replacement. 👍

Yours looks infinitely better. Getting rid of the noodle arms and the head was definitely a good call. Keep it up man

Great work. What kind of ankle joints are those that you added? I agree that the detents on the McFarlane ankles often make it harder to just stand figures up.

I believe he is used revoltech joints. You can buy a Lot of like 30-70 different colored ones really cheap off eBay

I think they are by "Hobby Base". They're not revoltech joints because they are just as annoyingly clicky as the McFarlane joints, although they have more clicks in between.

First off. Thank you for sharing! I've learned a lot and in hopes I can make my own. I was also trying to replace an arm on a figure but the pegs were too small for the socket. Is there any tips you may have on that kind of scenario? Should I add hot glue to the peg itself to give it more bulge? To fit into the socket hole? Sorry for your troubles and thank you if you do reply! =)

Did you consider using scews for the pegs? I keep various screw sizes as the screw heads are good for pegs. Great job though! The arms look great!

I have in a few videos already actually! My only issue with them is that since the screwhead is so thin there can be a bit of "wobble" after attaching whatever limb.

Painting silver is easier and cheaper, but have you ever used rub n' buff or Molotow liquid chrome?

I'm assuming you're talking about making the helmet chrome. I haven't used Rub n buff before, but Molotow isn't ideal for a project like this. The paint needs to be applied evenly or else it'll show any streaks, so an airbrush is absolutely required. Not only that, you can't touch it at all for a very long time (several months at least) without risking smears or smudges. In most cases you would top coat paint with a sealer, but any sealer will ruin the shine. I did have huge success using SpazStix Chrome Spray. It requires a gloss black base coat, and then a very light spray of the chrome itself, but it looks absolutely fantastic and is less prone to fingerprints. I didn't even feel the need to top coat it.
