Thank you for making this video. I enjoy painting with my airbrush and it's impossible to find a stencil that replicates realistic looking stars and star bursts in the sky. I've hand cut a couple of stencils to make pyramids and even StoneHenge but as you know, cutting them by hand isn't easy. You made using the machine look easy. I watched a couple of other people try to explain it and they're confusing.

I'm toying with wanting to get one of these. If not this one from Sillehoutte. I'm a model builder and want to be able to do very TINY detail. Just not sure if these kinds of things can do that small. I can most certainly use it for the larger stuff but even a national insignia in 1/48th isn't more than an inch and a half wide or so. So doing things like text that is only an inch long and 1/16 of an inch tall isn't feasible. That's the only real downside. Nice tutorial Dan. Thanks. I literally just found your channel today. Happy New Year. I also would hope to learn how to airbrush for fun other than for my modeling. Jim

If you want to drag the horizontal and vertical separately just turn the lock off by clicking on it. You can do it at the top right next to where you can type it in or when you go to drag it the lock image will pop up just click on it. Then you can size it horizontally or vertically separately.

Blaker, I cut 4 mil (.004) and 7 mil (.007). I have a video on cutting the 7 mil as well. The settings just have to be adjusted. Just to be clear paper and mylar are measured in mils not mm. A mil is 1 thousand of an inch (.001) a mm is .04 of an inch. I am sure even thicker material can be cut by changing to a deep cut blade and the correct settings. Hi! Excuse me if I missed any info. What's the force ( in grams ) that you selected on the cutter? I think I saw a thickness of 0.4mm = 0.015 mils. John, from my experience working with this machine I cut 4 to 5 mill mylar with the standard blade and regular preasure. The 7 mil uses the standard blade with the pressure setting set at "more".
