My partner bought few months ago cricut maker 3. As I am not into card making I have barely used this machine. I have bought brick wall stencil, used my diy texture paste instead of paint, looks really very good. After watching your video we bought mylar and we are going to make some stencils following your tutorials😊 I think I could even use stencils for needle felting 😂 So many possibilities, thank you for sharing😊

cereal boxes work great for templates. i just used one to cut a deer stencil on my air 2. could also use cereal box as a test cutting before cutting the .4mm if you dont want to use cardboard cereal box. i needed a thick template which is why i used the cardboard.

I was looking on ebay for a second hand one for my part time painting (more therapeutic than anything) I'd spent £40 on 4 stencils. Then my missus tells me they got a cricut 3 in the community hub for t shirts! Your videos are the most helpful ive found and wanted to say thank you from Liverpool UK

leebarcode, UK! That's awesome! Aside from loving to teach and help people who want to airbrush, the thing I love the most out of having a channel is I get to talk to people all over the world that share a common interest. As far as the Cricut. My Air 2 works great for what I use it for and I'm sure the Air 3 is a great machine but I will not be getting it any time soon. If Cricut sends me one to review that would be cool. lol I sell a lot of Cricut's though my Amazon links listed in the description below the video. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching.

If you take a wide piece of tape or Vinyl, roll it up with the adhesive side facing out, you can stick it on the table, to hold all the many tiny pieces of stencil material coming loose.

I use Inkscape for creating my stencil before importing to cricut design space. It has a great feature for converting a .png to .svg I find it a lot easier. I reckon I have saved hundreds $$ making my own stencils, this machine pays for itself pretty fast considering the price of freehand stencils where I’m from. I also have used it to make gaskets for some cars that I have. I love your artwork btw.

HI! Thanks for taking the time to make these videos! I am trying to speed up my process for when I work festivals/fairs and do airbrush face painting and tattoos. I am stuck trying to figure out how to cut 2 layers of a stencil onto one piece of mylar. So the outline, then the details side by side so I can line them up over each other and airbrush quickly to move on to the next in line. I like how Wiser stencils work and how they layer but I don't like all the little pieces. I've seen some other stencils made with 2 to 3 layers on one mylar stencil to create a more detailed image for whatever body art piece they are doing. Can you point me in the right direction? Or maybe your next video can go over something like that? Thank you!!!
@TheAirbrushGarage
@TheAirbrushGarage Жыл бұрын
Christina, that is a good question. The only way I have done it before is to cut the fist one then reload the mat load up the second image and reposition it away from the fist cut image and repeat. If you only have two different images the quick and easy way is to just spin the mat 180 degrees reload it and cut the second image. Let me know if that helps or makes sense.

An application that I mentioned in a comment for another of your videos named Inkscape can open up a PDF file and save it out as an SVG document that was on the list as a usable format. Inkscape allows you to resize an image created using it to any size without losing definition or detail.

A very good demo of creating intricate Templates. Well explained and to the point. I do 1/35th scale amoured vehicle modelling. If you look at some of the WWII vehicle camo patterns some have feathered edges, others sharp edges. For sharp edges I need a film that will stick to the contours of the model, including small bumps etc (surface is never completely flat due to weld joints, seams etc. What film would you recommend that is slightly tacky one side and has a degree of flexibility, thus allowing it to be pressed over small contours, giving a good edge seal for the airbrushing. Thanks. UK.

Roger, Cricut makes a removable vinyl that I think would work for your application because is is very thin. I used it in the "Lacing" on a motorcycle tank video for a Harley stencil. The regular vinyl may work as well. You also can heat vinyl, carefully, with a heat gun and it will press to any contour. I have direct experience with this as I owned and operated a vinyl sign shop many years ago. Hope this helps, thanks for the question and thank for watching.

I have a design with about 100 cuts, it’s for a vinyl wrap for a vintage drum machine. All the cuts are for where the buttons/pads of the machine are. Above all these buttons/pads are labels for the functions of those buttons/pads. So I need to print and cut. I’m not sure how to go about doing this. The first time I did this I outsourced and provided the labels on one layer and all the cut lines on another to the company’s specifications. I don’t even know if what I’m trying to do can be achieved on the Cricut. Whenever I look up print and cut, people are just cutting out stickers that are circles, squares, etc.

Hello I’am new to your channel and also new to airbrushing your videos are great for beginners.I’m interested in this machine I think it’s very essential I have 2 questions can you connect lines within the program? also are you able to just upload images from the internet google etc..
@TheAirbrushGarage
@TheAirbrushGarage 2 жыл бұрын
Rio, the design space with the Cricut is not for drawing so it is not possible to connect lines. You can import any drawing or image in to the design space as long as it is a compatible format. They are....SVG, PNG, JPG, DXF, GIF, and BMP. Hope this helps and welcome to my channel. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching.

I tried the .7 mylar on cricut maker 3 with fine point and "more" pressure. Still not going thru. I had to change to a deep-cut blade.

Interesting, it works on my explore 2. When it is set to "more," it should be double cutting. If changing to the deep cut blade works, that's also good. As long as you can get the job done. Thanks for the comment, and thanks for watching.

@TheAirbrushGarage
@TheAirbrushGarage Жыл бұрын
Buckley, i have never been successful with photos. Photos do not have very defined lines. With the stencil in the video, I imported it into auto cad and traced it so I had hard lines to cut. The simplest way is to trace what you want from the photo scan, then scan it and save it as a PNG. Hope this helped. Thanks for the question, and thanks for watching.
