Using a sash with gothic arches in it, Steve shows how easy it can be to cut a curve or radius out of glass.

One rarely realizes the difference between a merely competent amateur and an expert professional until it's demonstrated.

I’ve been working on the glass cutting table for years and still couldn’t make it look this easy. Nice work!

Very cool! I have seen people tap the score line with the ball end of the cutter to propagate the crack.

Great video, gave you a like. To viewers: You should wear safety glasses when cutting/handling glass. I never knew that glass can make a noise as you stress it after scoring.

Nice work. How long does the tool last? Does it get dull fast?

Extremely Cool, It didn't seem like you were pressing very hard on the glass cutter. Mine needs a little more pressure to make a score line.. I never did very well with cutting glass.. I was cutting Acrylic the other day, it's basically done the same way, but I didn't do very well with that either.. I had to really push on it to snap it.. Then then end wasn't straight.. You make seem like, a pleasant walk in the Park.. Me, I stress on it. LOL !

Great work! Does the glass need to be thin for this to work? Will it work on mirrors? Thank you

Does this method work with thinner glass also?

Wow! Hey man, you made scoring and breaking glass looked like cutting a piece of cake 🎂. However, I hope by now you are using eye protection and safety/glass gloves. Thank you for sharing anyhow.

You can take the edges to the belt sander if you needed to right?
@WoodWindowMakeover Жыл бұрын
Theoretically yes, but it has to be the right kind of sandpaper. If you just go with the normal and locally available stuff, it’ll instantly dull the sandpaper and not do anything. I tried it early on but decided it best to nibble at it with the cutter instead

@@WoodWindowMakeover That's what it looked like to me, but I can't believe it's not carbide. Those cheap general steel wheels could never last that long....could they?

you r not keeping your scoring tool perpendicular to glass. for thick glass it wouldn't have worked.
@aprilbarnes58716 жыл бұрын
A true craftsman, especially one who is instructing, would be wearing safety glasses. Yes, he did a good cutting the glass, but it is not good tos set a bad example this way.
