Man my Grandma died, my dog died, my cat died, I lost my funding for college, lost my job, I lost nearly all of my friends, was diagnosed with some mental disorders, I’m in debt due to my college thing AND THEN my mother died. BUT that doesn’t mean my year was inherently bad. I’m engaged to the love of my life. I am now making money doing what I love. My time off school allowed me to better prepare for what I really want to pursue. My firing made me push myself harder to be self employed. My mother’s death pushed me to savor life more and to find joy in even the darkest moments. I hope you all come to find the bright moments in life because there are always going to be rough patches. No one can have a ‘perfect’ year. But it doesn’t have to be terrible either. ❤️

My 2019: (yeah.. i'll just do 2019 haha) - Depression got worse - Suicidal thoughts are daily thoughts since months - I started harming myself - I found out my dad was suicidal - My mom said there was a chance my dad might complete suicide and blame me - My dad his mental abuse to me and my sisters got worse - I found out my sister has depression, starving herself, suicidal thoughts - i found out my friends, who were the reason i wanted to stay alive, didn't really care much about me - my grandma got cancer - my grandma died - i was burned out - i couldn't do any homework anymore and got a different schedule then my classmates cuz i was so burned out - i saw my mom burning out - my boyfriend tried to complete suicide - my friend wants to kill herself - my mom, my sisters and i ran away from home - i am now hiding somewhere in the country, not being able to go to school for my abusive dad. i really hope next year will be a bit better. but i don't have much hope.

My best friend of 30-some-years passed away in 2021, and I could not even say goodbye to her because of the pandemic. I miss Chris every single day, but she is with me in my heart. Love!!!!!

2020 was the worst year of my life and It wasn't even because of Covid. At the beginning of 2020 my step mother died of terminal brain cancer, then later on in the year our cat got killed by a coyote and our dog (Bash the bulldog) got bad arthritis in his right foot.😥😭 And then on top of that, my mom was struggling to pay the bills and so was my dad at his house. Hopefully 2021 will be a better year, it has been so far. Bash has pain meds for the arthritis now and it has actually improved a bit. Our house payment was delayed so now my mom is getting more money to pay the bills. And although my losses are permanent and I will think about them all the time, time heals.

in febuary 2018, i watched my cat of 4 years be put down from having bladder cancer. a few months later, my grandfather got super sick and was in and out of the hospital multiple times. he died in the hospital in feb of 2019. in sept. of 2018, two days after my mom got married, my uncle and two other man went over board while fishing and two of them found washed up a week later. one man survived. my family is torn apart in some areas and we will never get over this

my list for 2019 -lost my only and best friend (for 10+ years) -was left alone in prom, without anyone. crying on a treetop while listening to music to cope -abandoned school because of oppressing mental issues -strong depression and anxiety -self harm -moms abusive boyfriend manipulated me -bullied -my mom and i fought almost every day because of her boyfriend, and about my sister leaving me with her -found new "fake friends" that used me im doimg better now, and id like to give some advice that wouldve prevented this shotstorm to an extent: never put all your time and effort in one person, you wont be prepared for them disapearing. if you arent doing well, find a good therapist. its worth it. also, just in general. dont compare pain.

The last 2 years of my life have been a shit show, I broke up with my child's dad, only for him to get into another relationship days later. He hasn't helped with our child since. I also lost my apartment... I only got 3 days to move out, my car got towed at some point and I was too broke to get it out. My whole life was in the trunk of the car. I've been homeless with my son the whole time. I don't have any support, I finally got a job and worked nearly the whole year but have had to use most of my funds for us to live in hotels. Oh and at 18 months old my baby was diagnosed with autism. So thats a huge part of the reason I've been without work and homeless. I love my son so much and do what I have to do for him. I lost my job in October being that my son has many appointments and getting sick. I send loads of love to everyone because we all have different life troubles and though some seem small doesn't mean it wasn't any less bad

These people don't know what a bad year is. Here's been my 2019: -Company got acquired and laid off 5,000 people including me. I was 9 months pregnant at the time and wasn't allowed to get any maternity leave. -Almost died in childbirth. -My baby was in the NICU. -Looked for a new job 2 weeks postpartum. -Husband got diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which killed his own father at age 38 and which my kids each have a 50% chance of having. -Began new job 8 weeks postpartum which required international travel. Had to leave an 8 week old home to travel to Israel for work. -My sister in law got divorced and moved in with us for 3 months, rent-free. -My brother's fiance committed suicide. -The death ended a 5 year old estrangement I had with my brother and mom, which was a big positive, but created stresses of its own, like introducing them both to my kids who never knew them. -My brother became suicidal, and I got a bad feeling, so I dropped everything and ran to another country (where he lived) to make sure he was ok. He was planning on killing himself that weekend. - I had to learn mental health hold law in multiple countries to try to save him from himself. -My brother made 3 suicide attempts in 2 months, one of which resulted in a weeklong ICU stay. -I had to miss a work conference because of one of these suicide attempts, which my company refused to reimburse me for. So I ate the $15k conference cost. -All the while, my baby had colic for 6 months and to this day (13+ months old) doesn't sleep through the night. -There was drama with my in-laws, resulting in some family tension. -My company got a new CEO, who fired the entire US team (including me) to replace us with cheaper, outsourced people because they were going through financial difficulty. So, I literally walked into a meeting and got blindsided. I had been getting performance bonuses every quarter and was just told "you're fired." -I got a new job and was told my manager was on maternity leave, so please wait 6 weeks to start. -I start the new job, and it's a clusterfuck. Toxic work environment, manager lied about being on maternity leave, total lack of strategy, and when I went to the executives for help, they blamed me. I quit because I couldn't handle any more mental anguish. And... that takes us through last Friday.

I've had the worst year, I had to wait the entire year for foot surgery and couldn't walk at all until I had it. My dog died from poisoning, she was only 2 years old. My mother's cancer reached stage 4, and I can't take care of her because I can't walk. I got fired from my job because I couldn't walk. I was diagnosed with multiple auto-immune diseases, which I have suffered from my entire life. Oh and I haven't got any friends for the fourth year in a row.. I can only pray that 2019 will get better

I remember watching this and thinking I’d win. I lost two grandparents, my childhood dog, my parents were going through a messy breakup and kept dragging me into it (through infidelity, too). My long term boyfriend who I was IN LOVE with cheated on me and told me while I was on vacation with my family that I needed to go get tested, and my parents had money issues and I had to start paying for all of my expenses all by myself cold turkey as a college student working part time (hard to do when you didn’t plan for it). Happy to say that despite 2020 sucking, this year and last have been a littleeeee bit better. (:

This year was my worst. Only was physically in school for 21 days in January, and then 3 days in March because of back surgery in February. Lost contact with my friends throughout the year, and felt like I was being used. Found my lost dog, lost since 2018, but in horrible condition and we had to give him up to a rescuer because of our living conditions. Got a new small dog, Thor, but it died when we were not home for only two hours, alone. Went through the first semester feeling alone. And my great grandmother died in her sleep yesterday.
