Fixing beant cars on the frame machine with your skills is indeed impressive, but fabricating an iconic car is a whole other ball game :) If any one can pull it out it should be you! Now this is a build I can get into. Reminds me of almost 40 years ago when I had a 1970 Camaro (the car was only 10 years old). I wanted T-Tops, but all the after market kits sucked donkey and leaked. So I found a guy in the classifieds parting out a 1978 TransAm with factory T-Tops; roofs are interchangeable. He didn't think I was serious when I told him I wanted to buy his roof including both factory, glass T-Tops. Got my uncle and we went over to his apartment complex and cut the top off that night. A couple weeks later I had the only '70 Camaro in town (probably in the whole state actually) that had factory T-Tops; and they didn't leak. Can't wait to see him driving this car. Kids got ambition for sure.

Judging by the comments, it seems like this build has brought in an influx of me viewers. All I can say is sit back, relax and enjoy watching one of the best of not the best body guys on KZfaq. vTuned is a beast...a very talented beast.

After doing Body Work since 14, working in a Dealership. A&P Mechanic 25 + year's all I can say is "Good Luck"!! ANYTHING can be done! But at what cost? All this chopping and cutting and not a frame table insight! Can't wait for the "Widened" front and back glass!🤔🤔🤔 What about Ackerman Angles, Bump Steer, track widths front to back?? I would have rather seen you do a NICE coupe to fastback conversion, suspension mods and a NASTY "335 series" SBF with an under the hood Supercharger, 5 or 6 speed manual. But NO PATINA B.S.!! S.C.C.A. style build with the vintage/clean look with all the MODERN upgrades you can blend in! Best of Luck! Going to have to watch this build because somehow I went from a G.M. man in my 20's, to a BIG Block Chrysler man in my 30's-40's, to a Ford guy in my 50's 🤔🤔🤔

+1 vTuned garage - I've watched a gazillion restomods on YT and this one marrying all the high tech goodness of a modern Mustang with the legendary body style of an original Mustang is the best method I've run across to date, and confess one I've been expecting for all Muscle Car projects. This method will surely explode in popularity.🤞🤞 And let me say that as a young teen during that glorious period that, plain and simple, original 1960s Muscle Cars were effing sexy gorgeous deathtraps. This era was the birth of the American Muscle Car segment and Ford, GM, and Chrysler were all cranking out new models left and right. The marketing departments seemed to be calling the shots. But wait... it gets worse... To save money, Detroit automaker's engineers conjured up the idea to use el cheapo simplistic cut down 4-door family sedan chassis designs including stock sedan components/suspensions. They also mated barely adequate drum brakes. This proved to be a major disaster and caused many deaths of the young drivers who bought them as well as their passengers. In fact, all 1960s, and even 1970s, muscle cars were only good for straight line drag racing and, even then, were extremely dangerous as they didn't stop worth a damn. And in the early Muscle Cars years there were no seatbelts or shoulder harnesses. Also, airbags and energy absorbing crumple zone suspensions weren't even thought of back then. So I'm really excited about this build as it's the way all Muscle Car restomods should be done. At first, I hated it that he cut out the original dash, but soon realized it's probably not feasible to mate all the sophisticated wiring and instruments, sensors, etc., to the '66 without using the modern dash. Yep, just subscribed to see the progress!😁

Gota say..Your approach to widening the car is spot on. I widened as well as lowered a 66 mustang back in the 70’s and increased the performance and weight by 60%. You might consider chrome moley 4130 seamless for strength and weight reduction.

I almost said you’re out of your mind. Then I remembered how I cut a car in half and welded it back together when I was a kid. Drove that car for years afterwards. That was my daily driver all through high school and beyond.

When you first started this project i was stoked on it, (I'm not even into fords at all) and i was kind of bummed because I didn't wanna be waiting 6+ months to see an at least close to finished product, but you've been absolutely knocking this thing out, I've enjoyed every episode.

When you have finished I hope you do a recap of the number of hour’s invested in the project.

What a build ! So excited to watch the progress in each step of the way . For the curtain and seatbelt airbag sensors , use 4.7 mf resistors across the plugs connections to maybe delete the airbag light, I remember itsjustasix didn’t connect A plug near the radio and temp control area and his car wouldn’t start , think it was the cigarette lighter

Hi Vtuned! I think you should just buy a new front subframe and attach the frame rails you make for the rest of the car to it. That would save you a ton of time. Also maybe buy the inner sheetmetal of a stock 2015 mustang. You did say you want to drive it every day. On the other hand you could either buy or build a sheet metal brake. and make your own inner tubs. did you look at the websites I directed you to in earlier episode.? there are some really cool pictures of some hot engine bays in there. It's up to you. How long do you want to work on this project? Buying a front subframe at the wreckers could save a ton of work. Buying a metal Brake would be another tool for you to use in the future, and if you learn how to use it you could make round shock towers and its also a tax write off as equipment for your shop. Keep all of your tool/equipment receipts for tax time. One tip, photocopy all of your receipts and store them in a vacuum sealed zip lock bags or the cheap crap ink that is on them will evaporate by the time tax season comes around. I always ask for a hand written receipt for all tools, software and equipment purchases. if they ask why show them a receipt that ink has desintegrated/evaporated. ask to speak with the MANAGER.

Before you weld the roof glue a 50mm strip of 1,2 steel from front to back about 50mm each side of join this will stop roof from buckling and keep it straight,, add more roof supports and maybe add a wider new half roof so as to only have one join, and under lap step join .this worked when I was building limos.I hope this helps ,Regards Mike,

I think this is the best quality video you've done yet. Presentation is just as important as what you're doing, and how you're doing it. Your editing is improving. Also, I'd advise you to re-weld the rear section back, make your cuts on either side of the gas cap hole, and add your material on either side of the gas cap hole since you can't widen the hole. It won't look right if that chrome Mustang gas cap isn't where it should be. It HAS to be there, or it will ruin the look of the rear-end.

What a vision and a hell of a lot of work. I'll be watching this build all the way through. Ambition+skill+youth+work=vtuned!
