Just out of curiosity why would anyone want to make there tank smaller and have to fill up more often

Why do you prefer to cut down the center then cut two lines? Why not just mark your center line and then mark two lines 5/8in apart from the center line so you only have to make two cuts. Just more accurate with the height gauge or what? Excellent work. I will be narrowing a sportster tank today see how it goes with my shitty mig.

I have a question could I fit Motorcycle battery inside a sports stir gas tank for a electric bike battery compartment?

you could make a gas tank or get one that is bigger than the battery you need, and you can use the gas tank as a battery cover, i would just recommend rubber coating the inside of the tank so your don't accidentally short anything.
