The CVT transmission is one of the most computerized power transffer components ever made. Its very existence, is due to the great advances in electronics of the past 20 years. It is truly a work of technological art. The heart of the CVT, electro mechanical control at the transmission is the valve body.
Components that make up the CVT valve body can include, the TCC lockup and pulse width modulated solenoid, secondary variator pressure solenoid, line pressure solenoid, primary and secondary variator pressure sensors, the stepper motor, the ratio control valve found on many types of CVTs, and the temperature sensor.
The CVT valve body, has three Pulse-Width Modulated solenoids. These are the Line Pressure, Secondary Variator Pressure, and Torque Converter Clutch Engagement solenoids. Besides the PWM solenoids, some CVTs have a single ... Get the whole story right here in this video... Enjoy...

It's funny you should say that. Some else said the same thing to me at a seminar I was giving a few months back. I try not to bias my students either way on technology, since they're going to have to fix it. Thanks for posting.

Thanks, I'm sure they'll get more complex as time progresses, but these are typical cases. There's not that much to the CVT. They're easy to rebuild and work on. For now, they parts are more expensive due to lower volumes, but that'll change.

I have a Nissan murano 2007 and I have a code p1777 on it, so my question is does the CVT transmission valve body needs to be programmed before placing it in the transmission?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! My asshole dealer told me I needed a new tranny on my 2018 murano. Changed the shift B solenoid.. no more issue.. assholes!!!!!!

The "variable" in CVT used to be refered to whether the transmission will work or not..great vids, keep it up.

Hi, would you happen to have a diagram of the Valve Body of 2004 Chevy Aveo5 1.6L automatic, showing the location of the shift solenoid A??? showing code P0751...would also like to see what that solenoid looks like. Any help much appreciated!

For my fluence it's giving df323 secondary pressure solenoid code..and the car is on a limp mood..it a 2012 renault fluence 1.6 fuel engine with autoc automaticgearbox

I'm getting code P0777, according to this video its the secondary variator pressure solenoid. Does anyone know where to buy replacements? I have pulled out the valve body but Dodge doesn't sell parts for it. They are charging $1095.00 for a brand new valve body!

Typical CVT trans issue. I think you need to change the belt and pulleys.

CVT transmissions are the worst thing ever. The computer components don't make it easier to diagnose problems. The parts are more likely to cause problems and they can't be replaced.
