A couple of quick notes: first, I'm well aware of the popular theory that the Runaway Kid was "Seven" 🙃 Second, I neglected to mention a very significant detail: during the guest chase sequence, a portrait can be seen on the wall depicting the Lady AND the girl in the yellow dress. This would seem to debunk the idea that they could be the same person, and it very well might, but I think there’s an argument to be made that the portrait is showing her past and present self. In Six’s “safe room” in the Signal Tower, portraits on the back wall appear to show her present and future selves, and in the middle spot is the same girl with her eyes scratched out - if this was actually the Lady as a child, then the portrait could easily be foreshadowing Six’s consumption of her at the end of Little Nightmares. This is extremely speculative, not confirmed by any means, but is nonetheless a way for the theory presented here to still work.

i like to think kids like six and mono are like the four horsemen of the appocolypse for the nowhere. They are there to make the nowhere collapse. Mono is a word for single or one, coincidence, no. Mono also means doll I thought that was nice.

I think the "soot" is meant to be small piles of debris shedding off of the ceiling, the effect just so happens to clip through his character model

In the little nightmares fandom, only three pro theorists have made efforts to sort through the lore, “itsjustjord”, “itstimetotheorize” and “Superhorrorbro”, they have a really good track record in confirmed theories, I really recommend them, a lot of their stuff was even added to the wiki. According to them, Six broke the cycle of successors for the title of Lady of the Maw by making the decision to leave the Maw. The Thin man of little nightmares 2 was Mono, but the former resident of the black signal tower that Mono defeated, was the tall dark figure in Chp.6 of the little nightmares digital comics. The portrait of the girl in the Maw, was the girl in the yellow raincoat from very little nightmares, who was the adopted daughter of the Lady but was treated more so as a possession, another doll in the Lady’s collection and a reflection of who she used to be before becoming the Lady of the Maw. They theorized Six’s never ending hunger was the result of losing part of herself in the Pale City, Dark six, who may actually be a piece of Six’s soul. They also theorized Six has no memory of Mono or anything else from before, even after Mono saved her, but Dark six does and had been guiding Six through the Maw to help her obtain and use the Lady’s powers to reabsorb her, apparently after six bit the lady and gained her powers, dark six was standing next to her.

Dude, are you the only person that has stated these theories? I have watched channels that center themselves around this franchise and nobody has said what you’ve said…but what you’ve said is mind blowing and makes all the sense in the world. I have never seen and heard about the picture of 5 surrounded by 4 shadows or the clear 6 stages of the Thin Man growing up. This was amazing. Hell, there are 6 stages in each of those slides of generational trauma. I actually think you’ve got it. I’ve heard so many theories that are stupid and make no sense, but yours is perfect. Is there something that links Granny to being 4?

It's just a message on our society...Once you fight, and defeat the thing that was your enemy, you become the enemy you sought so hard to fight, so on, so forth. Of course the cycle can be broken, however a change within the consciousness itself must be affected, meaning that old consciousness must die before there is a *real* change.

I personally believe that the entire series is just one long-term scheme by the Signal Tower/Nowhere itself to eliminate and/or neutralize any and all possible threats to its power. Mono: He has some sort of supernatural powers that appear to border on reality-warping, and is eventually enslaved by the Tower. The Lady: Could possibly be a rebel of sorts, wanting nothing to do with the system of Nowhere (it's stated that the Maw is her attempt to escape the outside world) and seeking only her own self-benefit; she is killed by Six, who the Signal Tower took advantage of after the Thin Man captured her. Six: She's just a tool used to put Mono in a position where he can be effectively brainwashed into serving the Nowhere and dispose of The Lady; She has no idea of what the bigger picture is, so she's not a threat, even after acquiring The Lady's powers. The Nest Monsters: All of them either are already subservient to Nowhere, so they can bereft alone; The Pretender is killed off because she could potentially result in souls being destroyed entirely without any benefit to Nowhere; one theory suggests that the Nest's monsters were the result of the Lady experimenting and trying to come up with more ways to acquire power on her own.

Good theory but I don’t think Little Nightmares should just be thought as a giant loop. The same way I don’t think the lady was a previous version of Six or Six is destined to take The Lady’s place. I think the loop theory is only for LN2 and it’s a closed off loop not effecting the whole world. I don’t think LN3 will end with a loop either proving not everything is a loop. But we will see so excited for LN3 :)

If this is true, it makes me wonder what happened to the nest, as it seemed to be pretty similar to the maw. I mean, I mean, if the pretender was the keeper and she died in the ocean with the rain coat girl, who would take her place? But then again the pretender is much smaller than the adults, so she could be a kid, but she’s also bigger than the kids. I don’t know if she’s meant to be growing into some sort of keeper, maybe she’s an adult who kept childhood practices like the lady. A curious thing to note is that she has a picture of herself and her parents

I'm glad theorists have latched on to the prospect of the maw being alive, much like the signal tower. They both seem to be dependant on some sort of vice, be it greed, gluttony, narcissism or vanity. Offering something thats convenient but corrupts and destroys people's sense of self. I think thats arguably part of the reason Six betrays Mono in LN2. The thin man put them in an isolated space with their music box, giving Six the safety they wanted but turning them into a monster as a result.

Based on everything I’ve come to understand about Little Nightmares’s world it’s not too unlikely to assume the radio tower / maw / the Pale City, it’s all one giant or multiple different living organisms. From what I understand the entire planet could be one giant eyeball connected in matter.

OMG Finally! Nice to see someone else talking about the validity of this theory, although me personally, I don't subscribe to the theory of Mono being in a time loop with the Thin Man, it just wouldn't make sense when we consider the comics. Here's what I posted a couple weeks back on RDC's last video of their Little Nightmares 2 playthrough. I made this comment under a reply giving them context of the story. Sorry if it's a little wordy: _"Fyi this is all theory stuff. Me personally I don't think it's a time loop since we see the Thin Man operate outside of the loop which we see in the comics. It's more likely that Mono just simply took the Thin Man's place, same as it's implied Six took the Lady's place. It's like a cycle of abuse that is thematically tackled through the lens of children, growing up in a harsh world filled with adults who seem threatening to them, only for the kids to grow up exactly the same as the monsters they're trying to survive against. They develop powers after surviving long enough in the Nowhere, this being symbolic of a child growing up to learn how to better adapt to an adult's world, turning that into something that can signify change, or something that continues the cycle like we see here. It's also implied too that Six might also dislike Mono due to the music box being destroyed, as before Mono tried to destroy it, Six was friendly towards Mono. They even trusted him enough to share the music box with him. It was when Mono finally destroyed it that Six decided to betray him then and there. The music box was Six's only means of escapism, with escapism acting as the main theme of the second game. The viewers get violent when the TVs get turned off, with the Signal Tower using the desires others have to escape the cruel world in order to try and feed off of them. It drains away their life using media as an outlet, something easily digestible. Thematically speaking that's similar to how some people operate in real life, the ones trying to hide away in their homes under constant fear of the outside world. If they're only sitting in front of a screen all day wasting time that could be spent making memories and going to see the good the world has to offer, then they're really just wasting the already short lifespan they have as a human. They'd rather remain hermits and trade said time in order to stay confined in their own little bubble where they control what the consume._ _Anyways, sorry for the yapping. I tend to do that for things I like a lot. Again, this is just my personal theory and I don't want to act like anyone else's theory is wrong. I just took away something different and that's okay. These games are made to be seen through more than one perspective."_

The way you talk about the thin man and the lady being keepers, makes me think of Davey Jones from pirates of the Caribbean where the Dutchman has to have a captain in a similar manner. The question I’d ask is why these entities need to have a human figurehead? Are they needed to anchor them to reality? Are there there to provide the entities a way to understand humans enough to tempt them with things they would want? Or are they there to act as distractions to any who try to stop them by giving them a sock puppet target without revealing their true selves so any resistance won’t realise they are aiming the wrong way until they are caught?

Even though she was a victim like the other children, she is still a backstabber for what she did to Mono. In a way, she caused her own torturous fate as well as trapped Mono in a time loop he may never escape from.

I have to tell you all my LN huge theory. Mono’s real power is not travelling in tvs… his real power is that he skipped death. Let me explain. In the comics, Mono is getting chased by a mysterious figure that IS NOT THE THINMAN. Then, he hides in a tv and gets killed (we can hear him getting killed) but he survives as a glitch. He kills his opponent and runs away. Before, he hide is face whit the paper bag (probably bc he was getting called ugly and bullied) but now he has to hide his Eyes because they are all pitch black bc he is now a glitch. Then, he meets Six/Noone and fights the THINMAN… BUT ! We never really see the THINMAN getting killed we only see him desepering… In the signal tower, if Mono/the player goes next to a door (not in it) we can see his true self… a glitch. That’s why when he fights the THINMAN his power his stronger than ever. He is tired of hiding is glitch side. Then he finds six/noone as a monster. When he calls her, he is literally destroying his desquise to rescue her. Then he gets betrayed. (In the room with the chair, if he screams,we will no longer see him as a glitch) So I don’t think that Mono is the THINMAN I think in the cutscene we only see THINMAN’s origins and we see how he once was a little boy like mono getting transformed. Also in the end of LN 1 dlc we can see him in the tv…

My theory about six is that she doesn’t get eaten by seven but she is patiently waiting for a boat to arrive for her to jump on to escape the maw

Maybe the parents of The Pretender try to really keep her alive so she would grow to be a Keeper of the Maw, there are Maw books in the nursery and the boxes where the dolls come have the same eye, perhaps they thought that keeping her lock in the Mansion until she grew would help her turn into a keeper and it seem to kinda work? She has some powers like high pitch scream and when touches someone they clothes are the only things left kinda when The Lady turns a kid into a nome, there are a bunch of nomes in the nest so maybe she's really growing to replace the lady, The nest doesn't seem really to be alive like the other big places maybe she wishes to have one as well so her parents build a extremely big Mansion where she can pretend to be Keeper her dolls would the souls and body's she uses to keep her place running, they're placed as if they were eating in a beautiful dinning hall or watching TVs she even drinks Tea with them but maybe she doesn't want to be a keeper after she breaks the red scarf doll she crys in q bench since maybe she thought the doll was really alive since the ponytail kinda pulled her and made a mess in the dinning hall, maybe wanted to punish her but didn't meant to break her thats why she cries beside the broken doll on the floor

The Maw remind me of the biblical Leviathan - he emitt sweet fumes to lure lost souls to his maw, similiar to the food that lure the guests, and coils around the material plane, to stop soul to reach enlightment, by swallow them back to the cycle of rebirth in gnostic lore. Also, hes similiar ti the island-sized monsters, the ray-like yokai Akaei, norse hafgufa and lyngbakr, the base for the Kraken's legend.

I believe that low and alone will find a way to tether with the cycle and we will see the two favorite protagonist freed from being turned into adults and maybe they will reflect on each other hence lows power of mirrors or reflections. Your theory about the woman being five is incorrect because spoiler alert for anyone that has played very little nightmares but in the ending you see that the person you were playing as falls to her death. Plus your theory with seven could be correct if not for the fact that seven was truned into a geom than eaten by Six.
