Cycling the world (Day 1) England: The Grand Depart

Finally it's arrived, we set off today on an adventure of a lifetime, to cycle around the world. We are excited, nervous, buzzing, grinning and laughing all at the same time. Bikes are serviced, pannier bags packed, a few days routes planned. We don't know what is coming as we cycle away from home, friends and family, nor when we will return, we just know in our hearts that we have to do this! Thanks everyone for such a fantastic Yorkshire send off!

Wonderful send off you two! Reminds us of our first world tour back in 2013 and our send off. We weren't sure if we were going to make it 2 weeks, 2 months, or a year. Ended up going for 25 months and then in June 2021, we did it again but with less fan fare since we flew to Deadhorse, Alaska. Crazy how far you two have come after 3 years. Having gone into Richardson’s for years Debs is one of the politest people I’ve seen. I hope you both have a great trip and we will be watching what you both get up to via the vlogs 🚴🏻‍♀️⛺️

Looks like an amazing trip! What kind of bikes are you riding? And what are your ages?

Thanks Susie, it is amazing, and getting better! We are 51 and 59 (will let you guess which way round). Debs rides a Thorn Nomad and Tom an Oxford Bike Works tourer.
