Thank you Sir!! I am glad you enjoyed it from Uruguay! The piston ring gap is in the Land Rover repair manual. 2.25 Petrol is .015-.020 inch. 2.25 diesel is upper ring .014-.019 inch and middle and lower is .010-.015 inch.

What about thickness of the head gaskets? Engine sounds great

The thickness is stock. They didn’t offer different thickness for the head gasket. Not quite a precise as new diesel engines. Newer diesels do have specific thickness but not the old 2.25 LR diesel’s.

Be careful oiling head and valve rocker bolts. It will invalidate the torque settings, which (as far as I know) are meant for a clean, dry bolt.

You are correct. Oil vs dry definitely makes a difference in the value. I couldn’t find any info if the bolts should be dry or oiled. I’ve always cleaned threads, oiled bolt or nuts with a torque value. I just put a little dab of normal oil to make it easier to install. Not really really anything crazy. Thank you for watching!!
