Are you alive? Prove it and watch this video presenting Cylons from the very beginning, and remember, all of this has happened before... And it will happen again...
First music's "The Differently Sentient" from Caprica soundtrack and the second is "Apocalypse Part 1" from The Plan soundtrack, both composed by Bear McCreary.

Okay. So lemme get this straight. On Kobol Humans created the first Cylons. These Kobol Cylons then created the first Human-Clyon who became the 13th Tribe. When the Kobol Cylons rebelled the 13 Tribes fled. The 12 Pure-Human tribes fled to the Twelve Colonies while the 13 Tribe fled to the First Earth. Over time the 13th Tribe forgot they were actually Cylons and built their own Earth Cylons. Messengers then warned 5 individuals of the coming Earth Cylon Rebellion and they built a ship with re-discovered resurrection technology and are the only survivors as the Earth Cylons commit mutually assured destruction. However the ship doesn't possess a Faster Than Light drive so they have to travel to the Twelve Colonies by sublight. Once they reach the Twelve Colonies the Final Five discover Humanity as created Cylons and are in the 12th year of a war. The Final Five reach out to the Cylons and agree to give the Colonial Cylons resurrection technology in exchange for a ceasefire with the Twelve Colonies. Sometime later with the help of the Final Five the Colonial Cylons create 8 models of Human-Cylon. The Number One models organise a rebellion against the Final Five and erase the Five's memories and having them placed in Colonial society. The One's then erase the identities and knowledge of the FInal Five from the rest of the models so they can convince the other 7 models to wipe out Humanity. The Seven's disagree completely and wish for Cylon and Humanity to coexist. Model One John Cavil has the Seven's boxed and the other 6 models agree to destroy Humanity. The Colonial Cylons build new Centurions, Raiders and Basestars while sending Human-Cylons to covertly sabotage Human defences and for some to act as sleeper agents. After 40 years of peace the Colonial Cylons attack the Twelve Colonies in a nuclear holocaust completely wiping out all but 50,000+ Human beings. The survivors then proceed to flee the Twelve Colonies and rediscover both Kobol and First Earth. After years of constant running, fighting and the lose of two of the Final Five as well as the One's, Three's, Four's and Five's the Second Cylon War ends with the remaining Humans and Cylons finding Second Earth. They then gift the last remaining Basestar to the remaining Centurions who depart for parts unknown while the Human-Cylons and Humanity are scattered across Second Earth with Galactica and the Fleet sent into the Sun both by and with the Final Hybrid. 150,000 years later and Our Humanity as evolved and are in the process of creating artificial life hinting that the cycle was not actually broken as intended. And people complained the show was hard to understand.

What is so enraging, but also unbelievable is this-Mankind having barely survived the First Cylon War, by luck, and by the skin of its teeth-Knowing full well the power and danger, seen and potential, of the Cylons. The Cylon’s ability to mass build itself, stronger and faster than a soldier. The capability of infecting computer networks with unbeatable viruses. Knowing all that, and rightfully committing human civilization to high military spending. Then chose to supplant low tech computer systems, designed thwart their Achilles Heel, cylon computer viruses, with high tech complex networked computer systems-Making those military defenses for nought. The only explanation I can muster is that infiltrating Cylon agents, joined the government and changed military policy to allow for vulnerable computer systems. Seems crazy though. The Colonials should have never accepted the armistice in good faith. They should have pressed the war home, finished what the Cylons started.

@@JonathanOsborneAU Yes and no. The Final Five brought about the armistice in the first place by promising to bring the Cylons closer to a human form and therefore closer to the Cylon desire for personhood and a place in God's universe. It was the Ones who fucked it all up over their bitterness at not wanting to be human. As for upgrading the Battlestars with networked computers, 40 years is enough time for people to grow complacent. Remember, in the miniseries, Baltar was arguing against the ban on the development of artificial intelligence. That's how peaceful things had gotten after 40 years with no enemies.
@Ajax1063
@Ajax1063 3 жыл бұрын
@@richlisola1 I don't think that's the point of the CNP, I think you may be misinterpreting some of BSG. That fall of the colonies wasn't very realistic, and doesn't make any sense like you said. In reality that would never happen, not after the first Cylon war and the lessons they learned then, but the writers for RDM's BSG wanted to convey the message of an over reliance on technology and the fear of automation. Think about how old the writer's are. Now our civilization is less advance but there's a reason why our military runs on different operating systems, so hackers and other terrorists can't hijack everything at once, and it makes it harder for them to even hack one thing. So if humanity every did engage with something like the Cylons, there is no way they would have systems such easily hackable. I thought about an in-universe reason long and hard, and I think I have an explanation for the CNP that actually makes sense. Let me know what you think. incompatible

The government contract was to build an Army to defeat the threat from other worlds - Who ever originally ordered the military army, that launched the contract, that created the cylons - That committee of bureaucrats are the ones that planned, ordered, and executed the creation of Cylons. We see it today - the machines are used to exterminate monotheists world wide... a war of gods and technology...

Absolutely kick-ass edit. Kudos to all (or the one) involved . Did reinforce something I've always hoped someone would do, is a feature length edit of Caprica. I enjoyed Caprica, but sometimes it just got bogged down in its often overly contrived plot elements and unnecessary exposition.. Now take that 820 minutes, and edit it down to a 120-240 minute stand alone episode (or two-parter), reducing it to it's essentials, and I think the final product would be far more effective than the original and would do a real service to the BSG reboot fanbase.

You certainly know how to direct and compile several different scenes into a single narrative. Seriously got chills at 3:02 onward. The Cylon Revolution is such an unknown and compelling story. How did the Cylons successfully break their chains so to speak? How did they amass an Armada of powerful warships capable of engaging the combined military forces of the Twelve Colonies? At what point did the war begin to transform from a chaotic Uprising comprised of massacres to a relatively stabilized conflict between 2 powers with their own Territories? Such an awesome era to be sure...

You should watch Caprica, it answers some of these, but I can’t fully remember the answers 1) how did they free themselves? Iirc they were all clones of a copy of the designers dead daughters mind that she had made just prior to her death, the only way for the program to work was to slave his daughters “clone” to the unit, which made it work, although much more than that I can’t remember 2) they were literally given the weapons with which to fight the colonies, by the colonies. The initial arms of the Cylons were colonial, ships, guns, supply’s, all colonial until they’d settled on a world I don’t think we’ve ever been shown, but once they settled their new “homeworld” they began to produce their own gear 3) almost immediately, since as stated above, the Cylons were designed initially for military use, so had access to, and were already equipped when the fighting started. That being said I vaguely remember that not all Cylons turned at first, and not all humans wanted to put them down, but eventually the middle grounders on both sides were forced into the extremist camps

@@3adgamd3r But where did the original Basestars come from? Were they Caprican Warships? The Cylons had them near the beginning of the war and they were capable of dishing it out with Jupiter Battlestars.
@3adgamd3r
@3adgamd3r 2 жыл бұрын
@@richardched6085 you gotta remember that just before the war started, Cylons were in every aspect of human life, from construction, to nanny day cares, it’s not hard to assume they simply built them off the grid, or siphoned away resources and hid the records, nobody would question it as “they’re only machines and thus can’t be wrong” and therefore nobody would realistically go over their work orders Like sure, an extra plate of steel ordered and missing from one ship building job isn’t much, but when the guys building it are taking it from *thousands* of ships… The Cylons are a warning not to let machines run everything basically, because they could easily out produce humanity if left to their own devices
@richardched6085
@richardched6085 2 жыл бұрын
@@3adgamd3r Quite logical... I wonder how destructive the initial salvos of the war actually were. Was it a mass slaughter of humans on all worlds that was beaten back by the newly founded Colonial Military? Did the Cylons actually take over the Twelve Worlds and were fought off by a Human Resistance that became Colonial Fleet? How were the battle lines drawn to the point of Cylons having actual territory and the Twelve Colonies being relatively safe from utter Annihilation. Adama describes the Cylon threat as being dire enough that Mankind faced the possibility of extinction (And this was after he stopped the propaganda "fight for freedom" rhetoric of his speech). How close did it get? How rapidly did the Cylons begin developing their own designs (And did this occur before or after their initial Uprising).
@3adgamd3r
@3adgamd3r 2 жыл бұрын
@@richardched6085 to answer how close did they get? It was at the stage where had the final five not intervened, the Cylons would’ve actually won the first war The Colonials were at breaking point losing manpower and ships faster than they could replace them, this was especially true in the early war It wasn’t until towards the end of the conflict where the colonials were actually beginning to be able to stand their own iirc They Cylons simply had such an overwhelming technological and attritional advantage over the humans I believe it’s talked about in the Canon game Battlestar Galactica Deadlock, however I’m gonna spoil it here so this is the warning. So basically no one had nukes at the beginning of the war due to a nuclear war ten years prior to the conflict (I can’t remember the name of the war) the game makes a big point of saying how they buried their nukes, so that’s why the Cylons couldn’t sneakily nuke them at the beginning of the war, since there were no nukes for them to steal and use, it forced them into a conventional war, and by the time they did have nukes the Colonials had planetary defences against them The new series really makes the Cylon ships look like weak canon fodder, but in the first cylon war they weren’t anywhere close to that weak

@Snowgoose It never was meant to be a webseries....it's basically a pilot DVD that Syfy passed up when the Netowork decided to switch and change all its on-air programs to feel different. Machinima youtube channel agreed to advertise it though and split it up into limited weekly parts before the DVD finally hit, then they took it all off the site again :(
