Great question. I was told by some of her other fans they were jealous that my local pop rock station played it like it was a big hit, for about a month, and believe me, it sounded so good on FM radio back then! I'm from the midwest, so we had a lot of rock stations. For example, I love Queensryche, so their song Jet City Woman from late 80s or early 90s was played decently on the pop rock station, not top 40 level, but enough to hear it and go cool Queensryche is getting air time! It's so weird that songs we think are big aren't even known in other states unless you were a superfan. I kept waiting for this Cyndi song to hit the top 40 and it never came on, only years later I saw in Billboard magazine that it stalled at #50. So it almost made it. I believe Casey Kasem's ATF countdown helped propel songs to bigger fame, and this would've gotten to about 20 if it got on his show.

She shows herself being shot in the heart in the video and she says the hole goes to China. Forensic investigators put straws into holes to reveal the trajectory of the bullet. She is saying that the hole goes to China. Thereby saying that the bullet came from China. It is a lot more ominous than the fun tune seems. In Latin, Cor means Heart, Ona means Attack. The US made it on behalf of China. The UN and WHO, all owned and run by China. China getting its power from the Dragon. The bible referring to the Dragon as Satan. And so I can understand why China wouldn't like this song being promoted.

I totally forgot about this song, but I just turned 50. I was only 16 when it came out. I was thinking it's time for me to start thinking about cardiovascular health, and this just popped in my head. Ironically, when you're 16, you NEVER think about how you're going to be 50 some day. I'm so glad I'm old enough to remember when Lady Lauper was new. Before there was Madonna, there was Cyndi Lauper.

I've got a ticket, no turning back My destination, The sea of trouble, the land of pain You're sending me where it always rains Oh reconsider, I'm begging you, some hesitation I'm holding on to my sanity I feel the beginning of emergency My hands are slipping, oh please don't let me fall into This hole in my heart that goes all the way to china You gotta fill it up with love before I fall inside of, This empty hole in my heart that goes all the way to China And though you can't see the bottom, believe me it's a long way down I'm on a planet without a plan It's oh so lonely I need to see you to get out of here There's something deadly in this atmosphere I'm in a desert, without a drink of your sweet water You're my oasis in the burning sand I'm out of danger when you touch my hand Throw me a lifeline, I'm standing on the edge of This hole in my heart that goes all the way to china You gotta fill it up with love before I fall inside of, This empty hole in my heart that goes all the way to China And though you can't see the bottom, believe me it's a long way down The gun was loaded, I didn't know I pulled the trigger, I heard a noise then the room went dark I felt the bullet going in my heart I feel so dizzy, oh please don't let me fall, don't leave me in This hole in my heart that goes all the way to china You gotta fill it up with love before I fall inside of, This empty hole in my heart that goes all the way to China And though you can't see the bottom, believe me it's a long way down I've got a hole in my heart You've got to fill it up with love

Perfect rythmus, emotion, pitch, etc. She ran on the stage and she sounds perfekt. She never needed something like the autotune. Look here the solo in the minuit 3:32 , how she come in the first part of the song with comedy, after the dramatic solo, and after the comedy in the last part again.

Anderson Barreiros: Tu disseste (perdoe-me a intimidade) uma grande verdade.

I watched Vibes a few days ago, and this came on in the credits. I instantly remembered it, even though I haven't heard it in 20+ years. Been in my head since then. Great song!

I can't believe this track never cracked the top 1/2 of the BillBoard Hot100?!?!?!? It was certainly top 10 on MTV's weekly 'Top20 Vids' & in heavy rotation there & on Top40 radio. 1 of my Top5 Cyns 4 sure & deserves 2B officially added 2 the tracklisting of "A Night to Remember"LP! "Vibes" fan 4ever!
