2001 GMC Yukon SLT 4wd 5.3L... Left/Right turn signals are rapid...but hazards work just fine. Fixed by replacing the turn signal flasher from Autozone $16 (part# EP29N). Now everything works as it should.

Great Video Ced, much appreciation. For those needing an LED flasher autozone EP29N is what you need.

I just installed full LEDs all around. Headlights, brights, blinkers (front, rear), tail lights, reverse lights. I get hyperflash now on blinkers. I have seen other videos replacing the flasher, but the other videos I've seen all had a bigger 10 pin flasher in that same spot. Mine should be the EP29N like the one in this video, at least that's what I read on the forums. Now that I've seen that this EP29N actually does go there, I'm going to pick one up. Thanks for the video. Edit: I’ve got an 02 Silverado.

Worked like a champ. Now I've got LEDs all the way around with no hyper flash. I also had to wire in a new DRL socket; one of mine burnt up from heat cycling.

@Jesus loves you - Day time running lamp socket. The light plugs into the socket. Through a lot of heat cycles, the inside of the socket starts to burn up where the bulb contacts touch the inside of the socket.

I might be wrong about it but I'm almost positive that you don't have to remove the upper dash cover in order to remove the lower panel below the steering column. You should be able to just remove the two 7mm screws at the bottom and then pull it off to get access to the flasher relay. 👍

You may be correct. I just noticed that. Also that would save someone a lot of time and effort...good catch

I need help😩 my front and rear turn signal on the drivers side work fine. The issue is when I turn my right turn signal on it starts normal but about a second after turning it on it starts rapidly on the dash and makes the rear passenger side blink fast and whole the rear is rapidly blinking the front passenger bulb just stays on illuminated and won’t “blink”. When I turn on the hazard flashers it works all four work perfectly fine🫠

Mine only blinks fast to the right. Checked all the light bulbs and they are working fine.
@cedmac33666 ай бұрын
Sounds like that may be a marker light/brake light bulb that's causing it. Owould check to make sure the actual sockets aren't causing the issue.Start by removing each bulb one at a time to see if anything changes. Good Luck 😎
@413pl36 ай бұрын
@@cedmac3366 It was the relay under the dashboard. Part numbers EP29 or EP29N at AutoZone for a 1999. The issueswas driving me nuts. I had replaced bulbs. Exchanged bulbs and cleaned the terminal block under the bed. I ended up stumbling upon a video of the exact issue but the opposite side.

What about your hazards?
@stevecarlson64623 жыл бұрын
My 1998 chevy pickup does that too. But when I apply the brakes it stops. As soon as the brake lights are off, it starts clicking again. I think it needs a new multifunction switch. Did you fix your Tahoe yet? If you did, please let me know what the deal was?

With reference to "hyper-flash" & from my limited experience if you have LED bulbs within your directional indicator sytem & provided you do not have a faulty bulb, you must also ensure that you have an "LED type Flasher unit" installed as well. You cannot upgrade your turn signals from ordinary "Halogen type bulbs" to LED bulbs without updating the flasher unit!!! It is not just a matter of merely changing the bulbs to LED/s without touching the attendant flasher unit!! In more simple terms if you are running LED bulbs in your directional indicators you must have the matching LED type flasher unit as well, NO EXCEPTIONS otherwise you'll just get "hyper-flash" again!! A good area worth changing is the bycycle type (brightness) reversing lamps found in most Japanese cars which from a brightness factor are absolutely pathetic. I changed mine & it was the best thing I could ever have done. Simple job no fancy skills or tools, takes a mere few minutes but just make sure you get the right base fitting on the replacement LED bulbs. My reversing lights went from meagre orange (despite them being 21 watts) with their pathetic light output to brilliant white & don't be unduly concerned about heat as there is very little generated by LED/s & the normal use/duration of rev lights is minimal in any case!!
