No need to remove the steering wheel. Just pull the tilt lever off, pop the two clam shell trim halves apart ( top and bottom), turn your wheel till it gives you best access to the lower T20. Take the top T20 out, pop the three connectors off then do the reverse. It'll take you 20 minutes.

Followed this for my 2010 Silverado LTZ. Worked perfectly. Bottom T20 takes a little finesse. Follow this comment not the video, it will save a boatload of work! Thanks Patrick!

Worked without removing steering wheel for 2007 LTZ! I will note, removing the fuse panel door & bottom shroud helps a little. I did have to use 1/4" drive ratchet with an extension & the T20 for the bottom one - so that it would go out past the steering wheel. My original problem was that when I was driving at night with headlights on, when I'd take a right turn, the brights would come on! Every time I would take a right turn, I'd blind the person waiting in line ahead of me :-D

FYI....If you use a small torx bit with a regular wrench you will have access enough to remove the bottom bolt on the multifunction switch without removing the steering wheel and clock spring. At least thats what I did on an 07 gmc 1500 classic.

DO NOT REMOVE STEERING WHEEL AND CLOCKSPRING!!! They do not need to come off if you turn the wheel to get the bottom torx screw.

Taking the steering wheel out and unplugging harnesses under the dash is highly unnecessary. For the screw that faces the steering wheel just get an angled torx bit. Saves so much time

🔴 Wake up to both my low beam headlights not working, when they were the night before. Bulbs, Fuses and relays are all good. So here we go searching up a possible explanation and solution to the problem. It's crazy that it takes all this because literally all the other lights are working fine. Thanks for the informative upload. Wish me luck.

It I really awesome. Thank you so much for showing step by step and so up close ..it does consist of a lot of steps but you took it all apart installed the arm and put back together in 16 min ..I see others talk of a shorter way but I think doing it your /Right way is the best safest way .so you don't cause any unnecessary problem.. Thank you so much

Dont have to do all that just, pop the cover off and 2 screws (t25) and she pops right out. Unplug the switch from the thing. Install the new switch.

I did it without removing the wheel, pop the tilt lever off, remove the column covers, take out the torx screw on top, I turned the wheel until I could see the torx on the bottom, and used a torx bit in the box end of a 1/4" box wrench, then maneuvered the screwdriver past the wheel to remove it.

Much easier to simply remove tilt steering lever, then housing, and access the T25 screws by tilting the wheel up/down and turning wheel as needed. Takes some patience, but it’s an easy job.
@Skarekrow570

Easier to do this by taking the wheel off, but leaving the clockspring on. Bypasses all the unnecessary wire disconnecting, and routing. Just disconnect the old switch, connect the new switch and reassemble. Both T25s are easily accesible with the spring on. Worked like a charm for my 09 sierra 1500.

Couldn't you just remove the top and bottom covers and then the torx screw and uncluttered the wires and pull the switch out? I don't see why it is at all necessary to pull off the steering wheel or the air bag and clock spring.

This video should be removed, this is less than 30 minutes of work. You are sending people on a wild goose chase. Thankfully I was smart enough to read the comments first. Seriously why are you removing the airbag spring clock??? I know why, because you are shooting multiple videos at one time. There was no reason to take any of that apart for this replacement. Remove the steering wheel adjustment lever Remove the steering column screws if they are there Split the steering column Remove the switch Put the new one in. If you have trouble with the front torx, use a 1/4 wrench to turn the torx bit. Takes a bit of time but way faster than this video.
