It is important to note that Ghazghkull most certainly meant to die at Ragnars hands in "Ghazghkull Thraka Prophet of the WAAAGH". Ghazghkull definitely went easy on Ragnar, and allowed him the "victory". He says so himself. Ghazghkull Thraka Prophet of the WAAAGH - chapter 11 - page 199 and 200 right after ragnar choped off Ghazghkulls head. "So this is death is it? I've had worse. I need not die.
