Story one: “I no longer feel bad for him because he had brought this on himself.” Apparently you felt bad for him for a long time. Long and strong enough to allow yourself to be abused in your own house and even be chased out of your own house. I honestly believe if OP didn’t have a gf/fiance, he wouldn’t have done anything and remained spineless in his own house.

I think there's a difference between empathy and paternal love here. OP was raised to honour and respect his dad, which can blind some kids into ignoring the red flags because "family." So his wording is more to say OP became apathetic to that fact.

First story: Hope everything works out with Alice in the end. And while his dad deserves Linda, a part of me hopes he realizes now how much he's hurt his family because of his selfishness, dumps her and finds someone not a gold digger. Second story: Sounds like the professor has gotten emotionally attached to the bf due to shared interests and is having a one-sided emotional affair. Some one needs to have a conversation with her before she ruins her life and possible OP's as well. The bf and his friends sound like good guys, but the best way to not fall for temptation is to avoid it entirely.

You act like Alice ghosted or cut off OP. If someone says your SO is cheating and bringing women home, it could cast a little doubt. It's not the same as a ten or five year relationship where it's like "I KNOW he would never do that to me. ST1 As soon as the gold digger had got them both fired, OP's dad should have dumped her, but of course he's one of those guys who thinks with their head down there and not up there. She's inviting random people she meets at the supermarket etc to OP's house, that's not on, OP should have put his foot down when that happened and told her no strangers until OP approves of them, I wonder if she's sneaking men in and sleeping with them behind OP's dad's back? The cheek of that hypocrite to accuse OP of being Lazy and living off dad's money, I'd have said bit rich coming from the gold digger. Should have smirked back and said "Lies" "She dared me not to cross the line", Oh Linda you mean the same line you crossed when you lied to Alice about OP cheating, yeah that line, the line is gone, all gloves are off, you can't shout abuse at OP,, talk about a line and threaten to make OP homeless which you can't even do that after everything you've done to OP.

Given how entitled she sound I highly doubt she done any chores around the house. Also let's not forget she has a 5 year old girl who is just like her. Not disciplined. However, self-debuff/harm ID isn't too uncommon now, so yeah, maybe the self-burn thing can be real since we do have one due to how disproportionate his status condition be (Sinclair Talisman😅 ). Story 2: A professor and account by 25. She probably didnt have much of a social life growing up and wants it now. Her life has probably always been on the fast track, if her fiance and friends are boring to her she should end the engagement, but getting married young is something that was probably pushed on her or part of some 10 year plan nonsense she made for herself years ago. Now she has met people she acrually enjoys and is learning to act her age. I dont know if she is flirting with op's boyfriend and is jealous of op or if she is being friendly and, being a fast lane woman, doesnt get along with other girls/doesnt know how to.

Women that use terminology like "patriarchal" tend not to be wife material. Cut Alice loose - there's a reason why she jumped to those conclusions after talking to that maniac.

Men that don’t like terminology like “patriarchal” aren’t husband material. Alice shouldn’t be with a grown up man who doesn’t know how to take care of himself. Alice should find someone who suits her better and acts like an adult.

If they built wealth together then she's entitled to a portion of that wealth. But if they both built wealth separately then she's not. From the story the op said that they worked together so she's entitled to a portion of that wealth. However leaving him with just a car and some(not half some) savings means she made off with more than was fair.

@@davidnash8208 Well it depends on whether she had the business before they got married and whether they worked together to grow it. Again the poster said they worked together so he should get a portion of it. Also as i said she made off with more than what was fair.

Actually professor is an easy title to get. All you have to do is teach a collage course. I had a professor who was a grad student in collage. I think she was either 22 or 25.

@@lilchristuten7568well, at least in Australia, you can’t do that: Level A - Associate Lecturer/Research Associate/Postdoctoral Research Fellow Level B - Lecturer/Research Fellow Level C - Senior Lecturer/Senior Research Fellow Level D - Associate Professor Level E - Professor So just by teaching you’ll be a lecturer. I am yet to see a Professor without a PhD and years and years in the field. It’s a coveted academic title. And you must demonstrate leadership in research, which a grad student can’t do since they are the ones being led

@@kantimeowpaw4693 No they purchased the house together and the savings he had were also something that they built together. Either way he was only left with a car and some(not half some) of his savings. That means she made off with the majority of their shared resources. I actually do have to wonder though were the savings their savings or did they each have their own savings because if it's the latter then she took money from him period.
