One day your cabinet knob or drawer pull is fine. The next day, it falls off in your hand. It’s most likely stripped. Here’s how to fix that situation without buying new sets of knobs and screws.

You just got a new screw. No rethreading

I just bought a new screw, the exact size and it feels like it's the actual handle that's stripped. Is that fixable?it's a antique one so I need to save it

Can you look inside the handle at all? I’ve glued a toothpick or two to the inside of handles in the past to create something for the screw to “catch” if the knob or handle is stripped. Basically glue them in and then break them off at the point they are coming out of the handle hole. You could probably “dry test” it too - before glueing, hold a toothpick(s) in the handle and try to screw the screw in. See if it catches.

Hey there. Are you saying you used a screwdriver and the screw won’t turn?

Can you put the link where the wire cutter you have was purchased?

Hey there! I bought that years ago, but you can get these at any hardware store. Here’s one that popped up when I searched on Home Depot’s website: www.homedepot.com/p/Klein-Tools-Klein-Kurve-Wire-Stripper-and-Cutter-11057/100352112

superglue and baking soda in the handles hole. Why overcomplicate things with expensive screws? You probably have Superglue and Bakingsoda lying around the house.

Sure, could do that too. When I’ve tried that, though, it seems to work initially but doesn’t hold up over time. Could be just my experience, though. Thanks for bringing it up!

@@daddoesvideos how hard are you pulling your handles? My grandfather did this to drawers when I was 5 years old, 30 years later they still hold up very well.

Bottom line from this video: buy new screws. No mention if knob is stripped
