Fun game. Finally Steve’s high dice rolls cost him on those panic tests. One common misunderstanding that I’ve seen going back go 8th. Magical vortexes only due damage on the initial distance rolled. Units that are under the template when it has to pass through to get 1” beyond are not affected. Pg 38.

Yes there is, usually your level worth of 🎲 + a maximum of 2 🎲 above.

How are you adapting the trays for the round bases? Are you using the recommended tray width for square bases or are you using the current round base sizes on a wider tray? I wanted to try this last option and just found your videos. Awesome work btw.

Great game. Props to the map as well. Open for formations but with nice bit of terrain as well. If you ever release a movie of this battle Mitch needs to be played by Kyle Mooney.

Hey Steve It would be really helpful if you could maybe do a video going through the major rules changes between 8th and 'Warhammer Armies project'. You don't have to do EVERYTHING, but an outline of the main changed would be very helpful. I've looked at it on the site but there are a lot of changes, and a simplified version would be great. Don't have to put too much effort into it just maybe a relaxing talk through we can listen to when doing other stuff! ty

That template you used for purple sun, is that the small round template? If it is what is the large round template? p.151'Remains in play. The Purple Sun is a magical vortex that uses the small round template.'

You didnt resolve the vortex correctly. It must be placed beyond a unit if it ends on it yada yada but it doesnt affect those models beyond the reach of the vortex. In this situation only those touched within the initial 4 inches are affected, for the rest the vortex just jumps over them. Also to keep in mind than in WAP this kind of nuke spells usually allow magic resistance saves.

Guys, vortexes don't hit the things they can't stop over! Page 38 of the rulebook: "If a magical vortex ever ends its move over a unit, place it 1" beyond the unit in the direction it was moving. If this is also over a unit it should be placed 1" beyond that unit, repeating the process until it is no longer touching any models. When this happens, models between where the magical vortex ended its move and where the template is placed are not affected by the spell."

That hiper fast running orc unit that demoralized the entire army.... that rule should be revisited, OK to jump one unit or one rock/house/other terrain... but that was like teleporting... to much movement for a simple orc unit running away 😅 I imagine the orcs like "come on guys run away, but, look a rock! run a little bit more, look a charriot! run faster!!!! oh no! anothee charriot!!! run more and fasterrrrr!!!! " So dumb 🤣

mm yes, what a great sample to base that opinion on, lmao. Did you even spend a minute to reflect on why it is thought of to be better balanced? Such as how Magic resistance has changed and irresistable force is gone and miscast scales with number of dice used or how you dont need to autoinclude level 4s anymore, the new and broadened arcane item selection etc etc? Do yourself a favour and think before you spread cringe

@@FootofPork Well, your partially right although spreading cringe (whatever that is?) was not really my intention. It was just a funny quote from Warcraft 2 and was mostly directed at Steve going back to an earlier discussion we had in one of his livestreams where one of the key arguments for WAP was that magic is not OP - and then I watch 1 game and this happened. I'm sure WAP is a much better system than 8th in many, if not all regards, but what you mention about balance is the main reason I don't play it. There are other rulesets that have made an effort to balance out WHFB and I don't care much for any of them. I like the unbalance, the OP magic, the unbeatable deathstars. Not to play them myself, but to play against them. To lose 99 games in a row and still go home more psyched than ever to give it another go. It was fun back in 2010 when everyone started to complain about it and it's still fun today. So like whatever you like, play whatever you think is fun and have a great day. Sorry about the cringe.
