This is the car that got me interested in Monte Carlo SS' when I was 15. I've had one in my garage ever since.

“Three time Winston Cup driving champion”. That’s how you can tell this commercial was from either 1988 or 1989.

yup it was did come close 2 a Winston Cup a couple times but still had two good starting years in his black #3 then 1990's we all know what happened.

@@bizzy24100 GM Goodwrench became the primary sponsor for Dale Sr in 1988 after Wrangler left the sport. But they had actually been an associate sponsor since at least mid 1985, then in 1987, they became a "major associate".

@@CJODell12 yup, so sad GM Goodwrench is no more and Dale's absence no doubt was a big reason.

@@bizzy24100 They sponsored Kevin Harvick's #29 until the end of the 2006 season as a primary sponsor, then as an associate sponsor to Shell/Pennzoil for the 2007 season.

Douglas Powers...GM advertising campaigns in the late ‘80’s and early ‘90’s were pretty incredible. You should be very proud of your contributions in creating that “image.”

exactly course he believed it might not have been 7 if Davey Allison didn't die, he certainly believed he could've beat him for a Winston Cup he even said these shocking words when he won at Pocono after Davey's death, "I'd run second 2 him in a minute if it could bring back, I'd do anything 2 bring him back."
