Trailmater Offroad Recovery

Trailmater Offroad Recovery

Жыл бұрын

Got a call around midnight for a Lexus Gx470 with a damaged front axle and oil pan. They were in a group and able to camp. So we waited till morning so we didn't have to deal with the darkness when not necessary. We headed in first thing and got the rig and pulled it out. Thank you everyone for watching and supporting us.

Really like that Rory explained what happened and broke. I feel like some of those details are missing on other recoveries. I think it's important and can be a good lessons learned. Also love it when Rory explains if it is a common break and if there is a better fix, or preventative method.

By having the events be meaningless tests. Like true turning radius. Who cares about turning radius when you can do a Rory Pivot. If it just "git 'er done" feats like here is a broken rig in a hole, get it back to civilization with no additional damage, time starts now. Then, yes, my money is on Rory.

Hay Rory & Shawn, nice work. Moab is spectacular and you've gotten some really good camera equipment lately. Makes for some really incredible images. Editing keeps getting better & better. You both have great senses of humour. Shawn dryly making fun of crap depictions of First Nations people in bad westerns with his 'how' line cracks me up every time. Always looking forward to your next show. Good fun!

Beautiful country and I think that you guys did a great job with filming and editing to show what you had to do as always. Never put your selfs down because you always have some great footage to show. Always love every moment you show. and i have never seen exagerated camera angles in your show that i see in some footage by other channels. I think some folks don't see trees growing at a sever angle, or think the viewer is too dumb to see that the camera was held to exagerate the slope, never saw that in your footage. thanks for all the great footage,

This trail route in Moab, up, down, around & then bigger tedious drops & climbs. TM certainly has the vehicles & power to get in and out of the area, but I question the Lexus, not knowing what tires, clearance, lift & wear exist under its carriage. One reason, Rory & his crew is so valuable. Those like the Lexus owner, even with the damage, can get their vehicle pulled out, fixed in the valley (or elsewhere) & ride again. Sterling camera work going in and out; trimming under the body (axle), hooking a strap; a reminder of fancy field "surgery" done by the mechanic Rory & assistant Sean.

Nice foot work literally. Honestly, I am surprised you don't stall Tail Mater more often since you are often pulling heavy loads though technical features. Nice driving and video. I like the videos of trail mater (shop on wheels) more than the buggy or jeep probably because of the fix it aspect, and the creativity of the trail fixes you do. That being said, I like the variety of different to vehicle videos too. Loving my "SAVE THE DIAMOND BILLED ROCK PECKER" shirt. :)
