The child of Baal, god of murder, and the child of Selune, goddess of the moon. You really think a wizard in his tower would REALLY stand a chance?

I do like that touch when she feels that she lost something. Its exactly how a Paladin feels when they become Oathbreaker in game, but considering shes not using Aura of Hate and such, she is probably Oathless rather than claiming the powers of the Oathbreaker.

Before you bring her to Lorroakan you can enter convo with him, and he says something along the lines of "we should just let the Nightsong brutalize him and watch from the side" iirc. At least that's pretty much what he said in my playthrough Sounds like he wants the show Aylin has to give to Lorroakan, but doesn't wanna get bruised himself. Lmao

This scene is incredible, but it saddens me that she may or may not have somehow violated her Oath by killing a man who sought to enslave her. That feeling of loss she expresses is eerily similar to a Paladin Tav about to meet Oathbreaker Knight, when Lorroakan damn well had it coming. Unfortunately, I never saw this scene in my playthrough. Fortunately, it was because this twit decided to detail his evil plot to a Good Nature Domain Cleric, and Clerics don't have Oaths to uphold (or even Tenets of the Faith in BG3... seriously, the gods just don't seem to care what Tav does with their divine magic!). I figured that Dame Aylin deserved a little downtime with Isobel, and that bringing her to the tower where she was meant to be trapped was just a completely unnecessary risk. So I killed him, no hesitation, and Dame Aylin praised me for it. As with most things... Astarion Disapproved. 😅

I understand the logic, but if you have to beat someone ass. A demigod warrior is the kind of people you want in your party. Given the opportunity, I would love to have her, Minthara and Gale in the same party 😂

I never got this cutscene because during the fight I killed Lorroakan and then raised him as an undead (hey he wanted to be immortal), so I was kind of confused why she reacted as strongly as she did after he died, but chocked it up to trauma

Was there something cut from this by the devs? It feels like there should be something else there as a follow up as to why she’d feel bad about killing someone horrible who wanted to enslave her for her immortality.
@sectcamp7 ай бұрын
Talking with the companions after this, it's implied she is lashing out so strongly because of her trauma, and her feeling bad is because killing Lorroakan didn't make that go away as she thought it would.
@cbdrawer95277 ай бұрын
The bad feeling she mentions is the same thing you feel if you're a Paladin, and you BREAK YOUR OATH. The line is the same, as it states you feel as if you lost something.
@sectcamp7 ай бұрын
Ooh nice catch. I'll keep an eye out for that if I do a pally playthrough.
@cletusmcyeetus59754 ай бұрын
Just echoing what I saw from other comments: It's because she (a paladin) broke her oath. If you summon her in the final battle, you could see that she lost her oath charges.
@NoodleArms20042 күн бұрын
@cbdrawer9527 I know this is late, but Aylin did not break her oath. The reason she loses the Child of the Moonmaiden buff is because if the player decided to side against her she wouldn't keep respawning over and over. As for the feeling of loss, it's Aylin having to confront the fact that revenge didn't make the trauma go away.
@RovingPunster7 ай бұрын
Ok, if my paladin can unwittingly break his oath by J-walking in the lower city, then how come a quasi-deranged Asimar with SEVERE PTSD and a tendency towards berserk rages and back-snapping bystanders gets to keep her paladin powers ? It's not fair. 😉

Oh crap she broke her oath. But how? Lorroakan was clearly an evil dickhead and left to his own devices he was surely gonna do more harm, and Aylin's a Vengeance paladin, it's her literal contract to smite evil
@NoodleArms20042 ай бұрын
Ik this is late, but in the dev notes it states that Aylin is feeling a great deal of anger/abandonment towards Selune for letting bad things continue to happen to her.

When I killed him I burned him and he was charred. Next thing you know she’s lifting a barely alive wizard and performing a wwe move. Then he reverts back to his charred state.

@KaiserNightcoreMusic5 ай бұрын
Bane's move is even above wwe, since i've never seen a real life wrestler perform a military press to single-knee backbreaker (tbh it would probably fuck up both the opponent's spine and the perfomer's knee in the proccess). The closest ones are usually fireman's carry to the backbreaker.

In my first playthrough Dame Aylin got thrown off the balcony and stuck on the lower floor of the tower so this cutscene never triggered. In my second playthrough she asked my durge why she looked upset and I remembered how hard the fight was the first time around and said "nevermind" and ran to reposition everyone, then send my Durge back to talk to Aylin and the prompt to tell her about Lorroakan never came back up so Aylin wasn't with us. Odd bugs have kept me from this scene so thanks for the upload!

I find people in the forgotten realms to be freaking crazy. They KNOW the gods are real and still they try to capture the daughter of one? I mean that requires balls of steel…with an eternity of torment all you’ll get for that hubris 😮. Hope for Lorreakan that he worship a god who doesn’t mind angering Selûne by denying her his soul…

Saw this answered in the comments above. If you talk with him before leaving for the towers he says something about how fun it would be watching her brutalize him from the sidelines, implying he wants the show but doesn't want to get bruised up himself lols.

It's what her mother Selune was about. A child of Shar would wrathfully slay a prone, defeated enemy like that. It's the difference between a Justice System with a death penalty and life sentences and another that puts forth sentences with the belief that criminals can experience redemption, and become better. Lorrokan was doomed like Minthara, due to the culture he was raised in. Also, what mortal doesn't fear death and at least sonetimes desire to be deathless. The part of her that is Selune understands SHE was Lorrokan's doom, had she not existed or he not know about her, he would have simply been another nasty Baldur's Gate Noble with Wizard gifts, who like Elminister prolonged his life for a long while, only to die eventually in perhaps a less brutal, hopeless way, vs a being far too powerful for any sane mortal to challenge.
