I love this because instead of Damon lashing out when he's hurt he sits at his best friend's grave and tells him in his own way that he misses him, and he doesn't have to worry because he's watching out for the kids. After Alaric dies Damon really steps up and shows his humanity, Elena played a huge part in making Damon feel human again but so did Ric, he was the friend that Damon needed and that's what makes me love their friendship

This is legit one of the very few scenes in the entire show that made me cry

Even though season 4 was when the show start to lose its focus, this is one of the best moments in that season , and shows how much Damon s changed since he first showed up.

Like lighting a candle is going to make everything okay or even saying a prayer or pretending Elena is not going to end up just like the rest of us murderous vampires. Stupid, delusional, exasperating, little children. I know what you're going to say: "It makes them feel better, Damon." So what? For how long? A minute, a day? What differences does it make? Because in the end, when you lose somebody; every candle, every prayer is not going to make up for the fact that the only thing that you have left is a hole in your life where that somebody that you cared about used to be. And a rock with a birthday carved into it that I'm pretty sure is wrong. So, thanks, friend. Thanks for leaving me here to babysit, because I should have been long gone by now. I didn't get the girl, remember? I'm just stuck here fighting with my brother and taking care of the kids. You owe me big. Alaric: I miss you too, buddy.

There are 3 scenes this is one of them, That I absolutely love 💋 #2 Elenawhile in transition she starts seeing everytime she had been compelled, when Damon came in her window to give her necklace back, Damon told her that he loved her but he would not be selfish with her he tells her that he doesn't deserve her but Stefan does and that she had to forget this! He had tears in his pretty blue eyes he compelled her and vamp speed out of the window 💜 #3 Elena & Stefans breakup on the porch of The Gilbert home before The fire... beautiful...

Every since you have left along with everyone else, this makes so much more sense, I find it to be one of the truest things I've ever heard about losing loved ones to Death ,You don't ever get better or over it, That hurt so bad feeling never gets better you only get use to the pain and eventually you have a lot of holes in your life and It sucks...
