Thank you for your opinion on this! You surely are right about that.... I can't help but enjoy his facial expressions and body language in addition to the humor and music as well! He is a "total musician" in every aspect! Some of us will be hopelessly DanFans for ever more! Ever On, My Friend!

And back to the video, Dan is the man!! His comments only show his sensitivity to women's feelings, and his sensitivity in general, which made him such a great songwriter. It also probably caused him a lot of pain (which I can relate to), due to being OVERLY respectful to the feelings of women who, in many cases, didn't care NEARLY as much about his feelings as a man, as he did for theirs. No apology necessary, Dan-we love you!!! :O)

Great cover by a great artist. Dan certainly 'makes it his own'. I had the privilege of seeing Dan several times, both as a solo tour and with the band at the Greek Theater in L.A.

No Dan was mistaken, Tim Hardin did make it out of the 60's and died in LA on December 29th 1980
@asquare17615 жыл бұрын
I love the fact that he is so into the melody, and can't remember the song title or lyrics!! With Dan, it's was always melody first and then those gorgeous lyrics. A true maestro of melodies!!! Glad you posted, keep any eye on the YT police! They are yanking left and right on the video's! A. So glad that you decided to post!

Some comments funny for me to read, not being fully privy to why comments on sexism. Love everything Dan every did, virtually without exception, and too am sorry I missed great op to see him at Konocti Harbor Inn, Lake County CA his last time there. RE: his 'tudes or whatever towards women...I have always wished that every man could understand what this means; "There's a song in the heart of a woman...that only the truest of loves can release....set it free...oh set it free." I mean, WOW!!!!

#1 this is NOT a sexist song #2 tim hardin died dec 1980 so he did make it out of the 60's #3 this isn't a patch on the original
@IrisMG13 жыл бұрын
It took him five minutes, but his warm-up was nice. Interesting treatment of a classic, and yes very sexist song. A lot of them were, back in the day! Everybody I've heard that has performed or recorded this song has put their own stamp on it.
@maristella2877 жыл бұрын
It is a very beautiful song that contains truth and expresses a reality that has existed or may still exist. What is all of this arguing doing here on this page? Not necessary.
@CpMorgan3615 жыл бұрын
I echo your comment about the facial expressions as well! Speaking of expressions, look about 6:25 for a few seconds.... he seems to be looking over his shoulder at someone back stage, and there is a very quick faint smile.... very quick, or is it just my imagination? Ever On!
@asulzbach9 жыл бұрын
I love the way he sings this song, however the acoustics on this recording are bad. I cannot understand what he is saying or singing.

Correction Please! I meant to look starting at 8:10 .... sorry! I am curious if anyone else sees quick faint smile there! Ever On!

Don't worry Dan many a woman fell in love with the carpenter that was doing renovations to the big house they won in the divorce
@johnboehmer66832 жыл бұрын
Ouch
@ShunyamNiketana10 жыл бұрын
Isn't this more a song of class differences, loving above one's class, etc.? The speaker apologizes for his (inferior) status. "Lady" is an appellation for a woman of higher class. I ain't worthy, yet I love you, Juliet.
@terrapin529 жыл бұрын
If he thinks he is pimp-slapping women with the lyrics, why doesn't he also apologize to carpenters everywhere? He should just STFU or not sing the song since he clearly doesn't understand the sentiment.
@ShunyamNiketana8 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Those carpenters spreading their seed all over kingdom come, so to speak. Jesus was from a carpenter's family, for that matter.
@teresasirmon62728 жыл бұрын
Referring to the reference to Jesus Christ and his carpenter work, he was mostly a blacksmith, they did have quite a few animals that needed new shoes and it takes a lot of skill and strength to handle the large hammers, etc. a He was very muscular according to the Aramaic scrolls. COOL!
@sandyleyva89593 жыл бұрын
Just sing the freaking song..Good grief!
