and how beneficial it is to journal obsessive thoughts. When you step back and look at an obsessive thought like it isn't apart of you, you can see a different way of looking at these feelings. Putting it on paper, word doc, or whatever, gets it out of your head and lets you look at it like an object that you are trying to examine and study. Once you see it for what it is, you can let it go.

I was a real dick to someone I knew once. It was unintentional and impulsive behavior. Since then, I periodically felt deep regret and hated myself for fucking up a decent relationship. After 3 years or so, I contact her on facebook to make a short apology. She didn't even know what I was talking about, and said there was never any bad blood. Like, we're cool lol. I guess the moral of this story is, one shouldn't underestimate how potent that obsession can be, cuz it can make a mountain of a mole hill. That said I'm glad I apologized anyway cuz I was a real asshole in high school lol.

She is an animator, not a professional interviewer. All of the talks at google I've seen are moderated by google employees that have regular jobs. I expect there is some PR reason for this. It's not like they couldn't afford to hire a professional. You can't judge the effectiveness of the tactic based only on your own reaction.

She's doing a really good job as an interviewer.

She's passionate about the things they create. That shows clearly and makes for a good interview

@@DevyanshBahri First of all, I gotta say it's kind of wild to scroll down the page of a comments section and see your own name attached to this old of a comment (especially one that several people engaged with in some way). I remember having watched this interview before, but I'd totally forgotten I'd left this particular comment originally. As to specifically what you're saying, you may be right of the difference between the literal words he was choosing to finish that sentence with, but I still think the point I was making totally applies. Harmon presuming that guy will react with saying "now I'll go home and hate myself" is still an unfortunately rather dark thing, even if he didn't go as extreme as "and kill myself". Even going with your version, the point is once Harmon realized that's where he was going with it, he regretted beginning the thought, hence his pause, and the interviewer jumping in with the "and blog about it" to let him off the hook and move on with the conversation.

I hope people come to realize how revolutionary his writing is before it's too late. I mean, I can make an entire lecture out of "Remedial Chaos Theory" alone. His experimental structure, his understanding of of the concept of chaos theory, the fact that he actually uses the premise as a way to flesh out the characters and not just use it as a gimmick, and his use of Chekov's Gun with almost every single joke in the episode. That's always the episode I show people first when I'm trying to get them into Community. I still prefer "Simulation Paradigm" because of how emotionally satisfying it is but RCT is undoubtedly one the best written pieces of television even.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Rick and Morty. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewers head. There's also Rick's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Rick & Morty truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Rick's existential catchphrase "Wubba Lubba Dub Dub," which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Dan Harmon's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂 And yes, by the way, i DO have a Rick & Morty tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎
