Another neat detail is young Muri says that she knows that her father will come back alive while her older self makes sure that he stays alive.

Her acting is just phenomenal. She actually seemed kind of happy when he was first realizing who she was, but at like that one short cut at 0:52 you can already see the pain in her eyes...

She chose him because she knew the reason he left was because he wanted his life to matter. So she made sure he was the one who could stop the war making his life matter.
