After seeing all the recommendations for Taemin, I decided to finally watch his dance practices. I hope you enjoy my reaction!
Edit: I triple checked that the audio was synced up when I was editing this video, but the audio for "Move" is off after uploading :( I'm sorry!

In a older era of shinee he has a long blonde hair, a lot of people told him that he looks like a girl dor his tiny body too, he tried to do manly rude dances and actually he comes back with this looking so much (i don't know the word i speak spanish xndnd) confortable (i guess) with his image and body. Also when(i'm gonna tell this in spanish) comenzó en SM ent tenía un problema algo grave de anoréxia. Sufrió un bullying horrible de sus compañeros de clase por esta misma imagen "poco masculina' hasta que sus compañeros de grupo pudieron ayudarle a superarlo poco a poco, incluyendo su timidez e inseguridad.

Idk if anyone’s commented this already but Taemin has revealed his Move dance and song was meant to be gender fluid. So whatever you said about no gender roles and the lines between genders blurring. Yep he meant to do that. Also in thereal MV for want he has captions and the first 2-3 lines are enough to get what he’s doing with the choreo 😂

Fatima Fakhir Musharraf (Class 2017) the choreographer was a Japanese woman (sorry I forgot her name) who was dancing with him in the MV (performance version). Taemin has an androgynous look on purpose and yes, he is beautiful.

@@elifcakmak3331 I agree with you but his androgynous look isn't really on purpose, he was like that since the start and he tried to look more manly, but now he learnt that it's just part of him and he's embracing it and he knows that's something that makes him unique... I'm really glad he feels that way now, tbh

If you want to see Taemin being technically advanced, check out "Drip Drop". Or "Danger". For a more fluid Taemin, "Flame of Love" is a great one to watch. Get better soon! I've loved your descriptions of these two dances so much, I offer a sub in return. And yeah. You don't have to kiss someone to get mono... Just no... Edit to add: Flame of Love is a Japanese release and his dance style to that is very contemporary/interpretive. Also, Danger is his solo debut, while Drip Drop really shows just wow... I said this in another reaction video to someone, but I look at Taemin and think that if you cut him, he would bleed musical notes. He's just so good at ALL forms of dance. IMO anyway.

The choreographer's name is Koharu Sugawara. You might be interested in checking out her own work to understand more about the things she has done together with Taemin. She also choreographed Shinee's "Good Evening", which might be interesting to watch as a contrast or complement to these two. Looking forward to seeing more of your reviews! He could dance to the worst choregraphy and still make it look amazing because of his "power" (I don't know how to say it, but when he is dancing, it's like he grows taller and your eyes can't do anything else but watch). csndre I’m not a native english speaker, french is my first language even though I live in Lebanon where the official language is Arabic (trust me Arabic is really hard to learn even for native speakers). I have to say that english is not that hard because you can practice it basically everywhere and with anybody in your surroundings. I am trying to learn Korean too, I barely knows the basics thanks to kdramas, kpop and social media. I am trying to get better through an app called duo lingo but yeah the hard part is that we can’t really practice only if we know someone who’s korean or speaks well korean which is not my case 😅

Thanks for pointing out all the nuances! I feel like I see those choreos in a new light now. If you want more of his stuff, "Drip drop" (the background dancers for that are from Millennium) might be nice, or his "Danger" (Choreographed by Ian Eastwood). Also you totally are worthy of requests since you actually have things to say about the stuff you watch (I swear half of the youtubers claiming to be dancers either clearly aren't or offer no new perspective a non-dancer wouldn't be able to see on their own). So thanks for actually reacting and kind of reviewing them, sharing technical terms and dance history/important figures. Hope you feel better!

@@Arsidala I'd agree with you, but the solo dance practice video is too close to him for my taste. It's harder to see the overall choreography when the camera is moving in for closeups. You usually can only see half of his body at any one time. I think for her to judge the choreo easier, the duo version is better. Also... he moves so so well in that one. 😍 He's just so beautiful in it, but that beauty is hidden a bit in the solo practice, at least it is for me because I want to see all of him from his head to his toes.

Taemin works with japanese choreographer Koharu Sugawara a lot (if you watch the MOVE duo MV she is in it). She choreographed Move, Want, Sayonara Hitori, Flame of Love and SHINee's Good Evening. Also as a side note when he was young Taemin started out doing a lot of hip hop and is very good at popping.

So glad you checked out Taemin, because I was the one (or one of many, probably) who left a massive comment about him and what a game-changer he is for Kpop choreo! Nobody can really do it like Taemin because his vibe is unique. It's probably obvious just from watching him, but he takes dance very seriously as an art form and a way to challenge expectations. Koharu Sugawara has been an amazing choreographer for him. He's mentioned that he wasn't sure if people would accept Move's choreo at first, but he trusted her in giving it to him, and everything they've done together has been gold. If you want to see them together, she dances with him in the Move #3 Duo Version MV and for Goodbye (the Korean version of Sayonara Hitori) on Hit the Stage.

I clicked this video immediately as soon as I saw "Taemin". Thank you so much for reacting to these videos! I was really curious what you would think of him, so I'm thrilled you love him as much as I do. He does have a crazy amount of flow to each of his movements. He is widely acknowledged to be one of the best dancers in K-pop. He debuted at 14 with SHINee, so he's already been working in the K-pop industry for over 10 years. If you want to react to more of his videos (please do! 😁), you can try "Danger" dance practice, which is closer to a typical high-energy K-pop choreo, although it's still his style. Also, I'd really recommend you see his dance practice with Koharu Sugawara for "Sayonara Hitori". This is my favorite choreography from him. It is hard to find this video on KZfaq because of the Japanese song, but there is a mirrored version you might be interested in checking out. His duo practice with Koharu starts halfway through the video, so I linked the exact time here: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mtWeaJdkqbC8ZKM.html . The first half of the video is his solo practice, but I prefer the duo practice because you can see more of the choreography that way. Long story short, please react to more of Taemin! He doesn't have many dance practice videos posted, unfortunately, but they are all well worth watching. Thank you! 💚 EDIT: FYI Koharu Sugawara is the person who choreographed "Move", "Want", and "Sayonara Hitori".

Taemin is amazing and so incredibly talented 💕💕💕 There are lots of skilled and hardworking k-pop idols, but few with a true passion and inherent gift for dancing. As a SHINee fan who's pretty much watched him grow up, it's been quite the journey to see him develop as an artist and a dancer. He's come so far. Once you Taem-in you can't Taem-out 😂😂😂

Hearing someone who actually has the knowledge and vocabulary to put into words why Taemin's dancing is so unique and wonderful is awesome to listen to. My younger sister got into kpop because of her passion for dance too, but she's just a smidge too young and hasn't been doing dance quite long enough to have the same insight that you do, thank you so much as always for sharing! Hope you make a full recovery soon!

Both were choreographed by Japenese dancer Koharu, you can check out MOVE #3 music video to see they perform together. The choreography of WANT has changed a little from the dance practice I think, you can check out his live performances of it as well!

Ten is a singer/dancer under the same label as Taemin and he's from nct, you might even have heard of him. He alongside Taemin is, to many, one of the greatest dancers in the industry and i absolutely love what he does. He can practically dance any style that he wishes to and execute it like he's been studying it for years. You can see it in his and Winwin's (fellow groupmate) choreography for "Lovely". They made it themselves, the choreo, the concept, the storyline, they even chose the outfits. He said he'd never done contemporary dance before that one choreography yet he executed it flawlessly like nobody's business. It's to the date one of my favorite dance videos ever and I'm sure you would love it!! So i really recommend you react to it!!

I wasn’t into kpop at all until I accidentally saw Taemin’s music video. I was absolutely mesmerized by his dancing and vocals. I instantly became addicted to him, which I have never ever been to any singer/dancer (and I’m in my 50’s). To this day I still can’t believe my reaction. I have watched all of his videos and he amazes me on how he moves, the groove he has, how he has evolved and experimented. Like you said, he’s passionate about dancing, it’s in his soul. I’ve never taken dance classes, but when I went clubbing in my 20’s, once I stepped on the dance floor I didn’t stop until they closed. I love to dance. I haven’t seen your other videos, so if you haven’t done so, you should watch Taemin’s dancing for the Japanese dance performance of Sayonara Hitori or its Korean version Goodbye on live stage. Also dance performances of: Flame of Love, Press Your Number, Ace; music videos: Danger (his solo debut song), Thirsty and Famous. I came across your channel when you reviewed Ten and Winwin dancing to Lovely; I get emotional every time I see it. Ten is another amazing dancer. Many younger performers such as Ten from NCT/WayV, Jimin BTS, have stated Taemin inspired them. I really am enjoying your comments and explanations on the dance movements and styles.

It's really educational hearing reactions from a professional dancer. You see many facets in his dance and is able to convey info to us from a technical point of view. You'll be amazed how he amped his performances on the same dances onstage. The energy and attack to the movements, ahhh, I guess u have to find out for yourself🤗. Love to see more Taemin dances reaction from you. No two things the same with him so it will always be a fresh reaction for each performance.

Hes been dancing since he was about 10 years old through the time he joined SHINee, he has at least 13+ years of dancing & singing experience. You will see allot of MJ influence through his solo work as an artist!.....@1:38 Yes his moves are very much sensual, hypnotizing and memorizing. He’s broken allot of stereotyping!

The evolution of Taemin’s dance style is so interesting. When SHINee first debuted it was much more hip hop focused (I’m pretty sure, don’t quote me, I’m not a dancer) and as his career with SHINee and later as a solo artist as well show such growth both personally and with his style and how he portrays himself

Taemin did an interview about his dancing and he did say he wanted his dancing to be gender equal (what you said "blur the lines"), he thinks that there are great dancers in men and women, so he wanted them combined. Also, he's been compared a lot to Michael Jackson, both voice and dancing. He's great.

I would say that Taemin, similar to what you called groove, has a certain type of swagger to him. It exudes from his body when he dances and completely takes the audience by surprise, even if they've seen the dance before.

you should also check out his stage for artistic groove from his Want album, its pretty amazing. Taemin has a great stage presence and love for dance. Taemin debuted when he was 14 so i guess you can say now at 25(?) that he grew up dancing since he was a trainee before he debuted.
