Ty for the attention on the dance practice ☺️ Personally, that little Matrix move with him leaning backward toward the camera, I interpreted that move as "yes, this could be done cleaner/more concealed for effect, but I am showing who is supporting me and I couldn't do this without that support". Jimin is incredibly humble and quick to credit the people around him, and I think that comes out in the story of the choreography

I love how economical Jimin is with his movements. So smooth and his balance is insane.

Since you are a dancer and also very aware of how camera angles affect performance perception, I think you would enjoy reacting to this. It is a dance performance BTS did in their early days on a show (not their music...a medley of Krizz Kaliko/Limp Bizkit I think). They performed it on a show and the camera work was very poor...wide angle shots from far away that didn't compliment the detailed dancing at all. Love the reaction. I suspect that camera angle you dislike is quite intentional. The way Jimin doesn't lean straight back, but instead opens his body to that side, leaves a clear line of sight to the man holding him up (holding him back?). Because that angle is in both the practice and the performance videos, it seems to be part of the overall story that Jimin is telling. If the male and female dancers represent different parts of Jimin's psyche, then all of their movements and interactions have purpose, just as you pointed out with the sequence where Jimin is surrounded by the female dancers represent the voices in his head. 💜

I liked it when they moved the camera when he did the lean back in the routine, especially in the JF performance, as he actually looked right at the camera. It really added a moment. You should react to their TOMORROW and BEST OF ME practices. Don't forget to keep reacting to music and lyrics!💜

In my opinion, it’s not that the practice is better than the Fallon performance- Jimin’s dancing was much more animated (better) in the practice but I think there’s 2 reasons for that: 1) He wasn’t singing at all, so he could focus all of his attention and all of his breathing just on the dancing; and 2) For Fallon’s Tonight show performance, he was, pretty much, performing in front of the whole world and he had a lot at stake, both for himself and for KPop as the first KPop (Korean) solo in the history of the show (ANY American show). It was a big deal and he would’ve been under enormous pressure to deliver a ‘perfect’ performance. Quite simply, he could not make any mistakes, especially with his singing; it was better to tone down his dancing than reduce his live singing. * Everyone knows he’s a world class dancer I thought the Fallon performance was better because I actually preferred those dancers - they were much more ‘emotionally invested’ in the song, so THEIR dancing was better. His chemistry with the American girl (duet) was better too. The practice dancers seemed to be lacking that ‘passion’. His backbend was more dramatic and lower too, really showing off his flexibility. But that’s just me.🤷‍♀️😊

When you were talking about having too much muscle for dancing, I thought you need to check out another K-pop soloist Wonho and his MV Open Mind to start with. He has several MVs but start with that first. He has very big muscles but can still dance really well. You should check him out.
