I have travelled in NZ from Auckland to Bluff and back about 10 years ago. The road markings have much to be desired. This video illustrates it, the broken centre line instead of solid lines in places where overtaking should never be attempted. NZ needs to bring their roads up to international standards, nowhere in Australia will you find broken centre lines in such situations. NZ is very beautiful, but the roads there do demand extreme attention be paid, the landscape there is unforgiving for anyone who allows their attention to drift even for a second risks death at the next bend. Unbroken centre lines and better warnings of hazards ahead are very much needed over there. This video shows what I mean, this idiot driving isn't crossing unbroken centre line road markings in any of the locations he so stupidly attempts to overtake. Fix your roads NZ, to the rest of the world it appears like the cost of the extra paint is to high a price to be paid, to save lives. Ya effing tight arses. On a more positive note, kiwi roads have much better courtesy shown, slow vehicles pull to the side to let other vehicles go past as part of the culture over there which is outstanding compared to how people drive here in Australia.

Interesting years ago in Australia my husband and I saw a driver that looked drank and he was passing on corners. So we ring the police. Because we were worried for there safely and safety of others. Like you said people can make old mistake while driving. But like this guy it was time after time in a short distance he was just unsafe. Police they told us he Denied it. But two weeks later we had the police knocking on our door and we were told he had caused a accident for that very thing.

Lucky the police had the resources to do something and weren't busy dealing with some idiot filming their police station that day ; )
