@@Lizarus.un-sane Yea, that's a really good discipline. Watching anything pass. Good, bad neutral, over and over again, builds the muscle to then be able to watch anything thrown at you (that may have really messed you up in the past) to simply pass.

@@HOMIEandTheDUDE I think it’s part of it… not so much a discipline.. I’m not sure it’s something you can will to happen.. I wasn’t trying to do anything when it happened it just did.. and yes most everything isn’t a big deal at all but there ARE events that can happen that can I call it “make me wobbly” … granted the level of that is what would be life altering for most ppl to experience and even then it only lasts an hour or two …I never feel mad at the world or all gloom and doom anymore… Also I just watched it again since it had been awhile and I can say these “superpowers” ? It’s real I can’t tell you how much is exaggerated or where the boundaries or if they exist It’s all subconscious limiting We are amazing and so much more than we allow ourselves to be

except he's not enlightened in the Buddhist sense at all... without any ill will that i'm saying this, no arhat is liable to passion, aversion and delusion while daniel ingram experiences anger, engage in sexual intercourse, proud (conceit) of having a 'dr.' title from completing his phd and sells the 'dhamma' for money. he can claim to have experienced profound meditative states and so on which exist before the Buddha but in no way can his being be considered a Buddhist enlightenment, and not even a sotapanna (first stage of four) since according to the suttas he would have 'wrong view'

Cool thanks for your opinion :)

I read Daniel's book. All I have to do to test his claims is just to meditate to test his claims. Hell maybe one day I'll even become an arhat. 😈 That would be the ultimate test.

It's certainly interesting to see how everyone defines enlightenment differently. I often ask my friends if they think that "enlightenment" is real or a myth. We tend to spend the next few hours discussing what enlightenment actually is. Depending on how we define it will influence the answer to the original question posed. As we have technology, we seem to struggle to find enlightened people. Some argue that technology is making the journey harder. Others argue that enlightened people of the past were not as special as we think they were, but they were not "caught being normal" on camera. I'm not sure. My definition of enlightenment would be that we still experience feelings and desires but we are able to regulate our actions and views through practice. I'm not convinced that there are enlightened people who don't experience anger. All the gurus I've spoken with say they experience it but it doesn't consume them. As for your comments on pride for having the title, "Dr.", this I have no comment. I'm new to Daniel Ingram and I'm playing catch up. I also read my texts in Thai, which while I would argue is closer to Pali and Sanskrit, that doesn't necessarily mean that it's more accurate or that my interpretation is more/less accurate.

There might be some nuances. Experiencing unpleasant sensations without aversion, knowing and feeling how all (hindrances or sambojjhanga or whatever) are vibrations of the mind. Being close with someone without passion. ...
