What I really liked about Pereira wasn't the knockout, but that he tried to help his downed opponent instead of rubbing the win in his face... Alot of fighters have lost sight of good sportsmanship winning over fans... 💥

This is so correct, Alex is unbelievably humble, he doesn't trash talk his opponents, and really the only celebration he's done was against Jamal hill and the ONLY reason he did that was because hill was fake and disrespectful, even after he begged for Alex's signature and alex did it. Jamal still making excuses on his fight with Alex. Alex is a warrior and he makes me enjoy the ufc again when I thought ufc was drastically fading away. CHAMA!

You guys seem to completely ignore the fact that Poatan has been evolving. He's evolved every fight and he's been training JJ with Glover and even Judo with Kayla. If he's able to at least reach a good level of takedown defense, that would be enough to bring trouble to any good wrestler. And let's not forget that whenever he got taken down, nobody did any damage to him or was able to get even close to submitting him.

Yah but u gotta recognize DC & Askream are literal Division 1 wrestlers and there always gona think you out a Heavy Striker with a Heavy Wrestler the wrestler always wins … but what we have been noticing is these UFC fighters are getting way better at getting up from the takedowns and even having better takedown defense and I believe Alex has been evolving there just very bias with wrestlers

What I really like and respect about poatan is that he is always stoic even after a huge win he bearly shows any emotions or celebret victory like all the other fighters who go insane screaming like they are possessed or something or (it's like somebody told them they won a ticked for paradise lol). Alex is never overwhelmed with immotion before or after fights he is always cold, emotionless and controlled, which is a different type of strength. It's like he won so many fights in his life that winning doesn't feel special anymore for him.

@@eurotr4sh Sure. I'm just not convinced it really increases viewership. This is very hard to test and very individual depending on the content and the audience. What's relevant for the algorithm is that the first viewers (regardless of time) react positively to it, so the algo keeps pushing it out. Plus for news style topics, the sooner the better.

It was awesome. It's not like Francis is lightyears ahead of the heavyweight division. He just throws sloppy nukes at people. Stipe got hit with one.

this is MMA not wrestling...you can be a great striker and a great take down defender and have BJJ knowledge to defende yourself and get back to your feet to KO, great level of striking with great level of take down defense and good BJJ is a great combination.

@@mucholoko90Aldo's td defense was way better than Izzy's and Pereira. Pereira gets taken down a lot but he holds you but they have a hard time continuing to take him down. Either his opponents can't continue cuz they're not wrestlers, he gets better thru the fight or both. And then there's the threat of ko. But Izzy and Pereira didn't fight many good wrestlers and were taken down. Aldo got taken down 10 times across 29 fights

I also dont get this mindset. 😂 I dont see people crying about how Conor doesn’t have to fight high level wrestlers (till khabib), Max Holloway not having to fight High Level wrestlers, or how Khabib only got to fight strikers. Like this mindset of “oh he has to fight a wrestler” in MIX MARTIAL ARTS is just so laughable to me.. and if they cant keep him down for 25 minutes then he can knock then out easy. I think it’s because there’s a certain pride in wanting to strike. Wrestling can sometimes have the (incorrect) accusation that you’re avoiding “real fighting”; if that makes any sense. Like you’re more of a tough guy if you strike. I feel it’s also easier to strike. When you wrestle you have to get through the fire of Alex’s striking and grappling can tire you out VERY badly if you’re not consistently wrestling.

Gane fought jon scared and didn't force him to respect him that's what happened, you need to fight jon with confidence, hold your ground be aggressive and push him backward force him on the back foot just like Reyes and Santos did in spots, you need him to respect the danger you bring or else you are going to fight on his term and his pace.

Some fighters do not accept what is happening to Alex, but they pretend just the opposite, because public likes him too much and they don't want to be seen as jelous or something like that. Nobody is talking about Alex Pereira improvement in Jiu Jitsu, He is training with Glover Teixeira, I believe, even DC wouldn't grappling against Glover. Glover can submit everyone. If Alex is improving so fast as people who is training with him says, he can defend himself on the ground. I've met people who could fight jiu Jitsu in High Level just in 3 years of hard train. Remember BJ Penn (4 years World Champion), Caio Terra, Werdum (in 5 years Wrold Campion) e etc. People is just talking about a year ago, right now, how he is doing.

If im alex I'm bringing in everyone and anyone to help my ground game and wrestling, and takedown defense. I'd say stay at light heavyweight for another year and a half to 2 years then fight jones or tom at heavyweight. He needs to train for this non stop. I think he has a better chance at beating Tom right now because I think Tom's ego will have him wanting to trade with Pereira. Jones won't do this. He will take him down and do ground and pound and go for submissions.

The interesting fights at 205 for Poatan are Roundtree, Ulberg, Hill rematch if he gets 2 wins and of course Ankalaev forbhis next defense.

Yeah besides that unless some new contender emerges I don't see anyone. Hill will be very interesting just because of his delusion and continued trash talk. If he can beat Ankalaev id like to see him defend against a couple more guys and call it a career because he is getting old and I dont wanna see him drop off a cliff.

Everyone in the moment the guy has 2 defenses and 4 title fight wins. Yea he’s double champ but been givin favorable matchups and it’s not like he went up to a weight class bigger than him the dude is a light heavyweight not a middleweight.
