My drives have really gone off, tended to sky them so lowered my tee moved the ball back for control etc...just lost confidence now, strangely I’m hitting my hybrids and irons well!

Danny Maude I think I was trying to force my irons by “flipping”. Ince that happened, everything else went bad, with too much thought process. That’s why I hit up the local pro, to make sense of it.

Danny, I am getting so much height with the driver, but little power, so my drives are not going anywhere! I use a pink tee which is lower than a wooden tee. Please can you give me some advice? Look out for your video every week and use your videos all the time, many thanks.

Danny, this video helped my driver swing more than any other video. As an 11 handicap I shot 79 yesterday at Moorpark County Club. Your tip to not stand straight, but tilt the upper body so it is more over my back foot made my driver length soar. I have been hitting down on the ball or over the top with my driver, but now sitting back it not only helped my length, but 100% of my drives were straight. This set up helps me swing in to out and one level ground drive that had a slight draw went 306. At age 68 my drives now average 240 yds and my confidence in hitting in the fairway has never been greater. I just wanted you to know that because of that tip I am optimistic about having many sub 80 rounds. Thanks

@@DanielMaude Thank you for being right on with my issues, I went to a range late yesterday, but a storm cut me short as I was figuring it out, went out to a small course this morning, only did 9 holes, I started the 1st 2 holes with slices, but irons went well, on the 3rd hole I only pulled back enough to hit 150 yard drives, but they were straight, I decided to just keep hitting like that to build a good habit, I only parred twice, once on a 418 yard hole, which meant my 2nd and 3rd shots went out well, mainly with irons, still tried working with 3w and 4-5 hybrids, work in progress, but overall felt real good about my quickly improved game and I thank you for that. Hi Danny, I am a senior golfer and a subscriber to your videos. I've seen a good number of them, particularly those relating to seniors. Amongst many recreational sports that I play is tennis. I've been told by a professional tennis instructor that golf and tennis swings have a lot of similarities. I've been playing reasonably well at both golf (18 handicap) and tennis (recreational, club level player). As I have aged, it has become quite clear that my successes have been attributable to having strong arms. As I age, it's pretty clear that I need to add those other body motions in order to regain my diminishing ball striking distances. I find that your videos address this very well. The only aspect over which I am not clear is how the wrists are engaged in the latter stage of the take back and then upon ball contact. (These are clear in your videos on chipping and pitching.) One other thing, I've never heard you address breathing. We seniors are increasingly aware of the need to breath. Joking aside, it's clear that professional tennis players are exhaling through their swing delivery. Maria Sharapova is probably the best, annoying practitioner of this. I wonder if this breathing consideration is also applicable to golfing. I sense that you think not because you caution against over swinging and rather promote a good, relaxed, coordinated swing.

Danny I have my best golf practice ever with my irons and hybrid. I hit the ball so solid and longer and straighter. Your takeaway videos have helped me a huge amount then add your videos on how far you can take the backswing with your drills and drills deals with transfer of weight. Pivoting drills included. Plus remembering I had a lever and I felt the swing. It felt really good and smooth. So I closed my eyes for a few seconds had an image of where I wanted the ball to go on flight and land and many times succeeded in doing this. It was amazing. Then I worked on 30 to 80 yard shots again closing my eyes a few seconds . Hit the shots well. The I went putting and closed my eyes and imagine where the ball would travel. I putted really real from long , medium and short distances. It really works Danny. It is so fun to hit the ball solid and watch great results after doing your drills everyday I am soon going to go play some golf on a golf course for the first time in 30 yrs. I will be ready to hit some solid good shots and have the confidence I can hit every shot solid William

Hi Danny-I have recently learned 2 things from your videos. I’ve incorporated the “Happy Gilmore” drill you shared with Liam Harrison into my pre-shot routine to get the feeling of pushing forward and planting off the front foot. It really helps! From this video I learned my weight distribution on the driver was incorrect, so as U taught I moved it to slightly favor the R side at address and tilted my head back and AWAY from the ball at address to get the proper shoulder angle. I didn’t hit them all perfectly as this was new and incorporated into my round yesterday BUT I did hit a number of drives much BETTER than previously. THANK YOU. UR instructions are well thought out and U make it SIMPLE for us passionate yet amateur golfers to incorporate into our games to improve. LOVE UR channel and instructions! Brian

Hi Danny, Great video on the difference between iron and driver play. Also it shows how the arms should move during the transition (supination of both elbows) and really how the wrists move during transition up to pre impact (delivery position) so the left wrist is in a state off flexion and the the right wist in a state of extension . At that point in time the centre of mass on the club shaft will be behind the ball. This will ensure a square club face at impact, ball turf contact for irons and rotation of body through the ball eliminating the dreaded flipping through the ball.

One thing I’m trying to fix now is I seem to be striking my irons more on the toe no matter how I try to adjust my set up. I just got new irons and it may be in my head and I’m trying too hard to get extra yards out of them - kinda over thinking everything right now.

Thanks Danny. Fairly new to channel but great stuff! I had the iron problem of pulling/shanking and it was from what you said, an open face. I am really working to improve my club control with one hand swings and keeping club face in better position. I still hit the occasional pull or shank but I now know why! I watch a lot of your videos now and love them!! Thanks!!!

I'm a terrible golfer. My handicap for 9 holes would be an excellent 18 score. And for years I'd just go out maybe once for nostalgia and give it another shot. I went a couple weeks ago and had one of my more okayish rounds. There was definitely an improvement and it was because I watched one of your videos walking between shots. Yesterday I watched this video before I left to try another 9 and I shaved 7 strokes off my handicap, with my biggest issues being my approaches, chips, and putts. (However they also improved over the 9) Thanks for the series

Thank you Danny! I’m guilty of what you speak of in the video with the face open...hitting my drives fine but I’m having an awful time shanking my irons! I’ll try and apply this fix!

Danny, immediate improvement with irons and fairway woods, both in terms of distance, direction and loft. Loved the “(Mohamed)Ali Shuffle” to trigger the swing. I was amazed what a difference that made! Tempted to get my driver out again!🤞 Many thanks...again!👍😃

Thanks Danny! Was just playing yesterday and while I had some good results with the driver, my irons were just so so. I was topping the ball and just not making good contact, with very little distance as a result. My irons were terrible off the tee, as well. Will work on the iron set up for sure. The driver set up has definitely helped me visualize what I need to do. Thanks, again.

@@DanielMaude Thanks for the reply. In all the years I've been playing golf (and by "playing," I mean not very well but hitting the odd shot somewhat adequately) and taking lessons along the way, I didn't know and had never heard that there was a different approach to irons and woods. Embarrasing to admit, perhaps. So, thanks for your very clear and insightful approach! You are a very good teacher and it has made a difference.

Danny I use a combination of two different swings. The Jim Venetos swing and the Channel Lock Swing. Both have closed shoulders at set-up which seems to suit me fine. I have recently followed a suggested move in the swing , in order to stop me overthinking and that was a suggestion by Steve at Bayou Golf.He made a video which showed the swing as simply envisioning the opening and closing of a hinge and I have practiced this and found it has helped enormously by stopping me "thinking" over the swing. I simply say the word "open" on the backswing and "close" on the downswing. It has also improved my timing. I am sure this would help other senior golfers especially those who overthink. I think a video of you demonstrating this would go down well especially with Senior Golfers. Best Wishes Danny and "keep em coming".

Another great video. I'm having trouble staying behind the ball when hitting a driver. A bad habit that I picked up while dealing with lower back issues. I flare out my front foot which probably isn't helping the problem, I'll try the head turn as a way to keep me behind the ball. Thanks again for your help.
