ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On KZfaq and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If its a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Very good image to work with - your images work so much better than the difficult-to-use technical data other KZfaqrs suggest. Here's a suggestion for future topic. Consider a straight line from left shoulder to ball. Under that line the arms and club shaft form the other two sides of a triangle. Very slight changes in the angle between the arm line and the shaft line will make an enormous difference to the length of the line between left shoulder and ball. In golf terms slight changes in that wrist angle at impact will make all the difference between an ait shot, top, great contact or a duffed shot. Question for many golfers - what should that angle be and how to control it?

Hi Danny, The one thing I struggle with on all clubs is my low point is always below my sternum. In the last 40 years it has always been the same. That and I have been told I have lazy hands. When I close the face for the draw I get shanks with still pushing the ball right of target. Taken many lessons from PGA pros. They keep pushing the ball forward outside the front foot , at 62making me really struggle to even get to the ball, adding loft to every club.. Now all of my iron clubs are playing between 65 yards with a PW to 120 yards with a good 6 iron. Playing ladies clubs even. I'm starting accept I can't hit anything longer than a six iron anymore...Thanks for the videos Danny!!

Danny, You are the Pro who presents instantly useable advice. As such, your videos make a difference in how We Your Audience perform. I thank you for that. One addition I'd like to see is an occasional playing lesson in which you play a round, or half a round, or a representative set of holes and go through your decision process for each shot and give alternative shots for we less gifted. An alternative version could be when giving a playing lesson you play 2 balls from where your student hits it, one like you would play it and one like he/she should play it then your student tries to replicate your recommended shot.

The classic training tool for maintaining straight arms in that triangle shape from shoulders to hands - and I should have used it at the range today. Ye gods! what a mess!! - is the double looped elastic arm band. One loop goes around each bicep just above the elbows. It keeps your elbows relatively close together, and preventing your arms from collapsing and shortening, and your elbows chicken winging out. Really trains the feel. Harvey Penick talks about it in his Little Red Book. He spoke of Mickey Wright using it, even once she was an established golfer. Wright is famed for having one of the half dozen greatest golf swings ever. To quote Penick, "anything that can help you swing like Mickey Wright is something you want to pursue."

I have for years left my hybrid in the garage and not in my bag. This is because I always failed with it. I will now blow off the cobwebs on it and give it a go on my next game. Maybe this afternoon weather and wife permitting. Thanks for the tips, Danny.

So I had to go back and watch the first of this video. That dude mowing greens in the back is having a banger of a time. He is flying through that. LOL

Can you use fishes tail for all clubs? Thank you.

Hi Danny, I love your videos and have often benefitted from them. I have a bit of confusion here. I hope you realise that the red line you drew from the ball to your left heel (at 1:40) did not look perpendicular to your stance and thus confused me hell of a lot. It seemed that the ball was at the centre of your stance and you just drew a red line from that to your heel. Can you please look into it and clarify?

Danny, I could use some help hitting off of hard pan dirt. On one course in particular, there’s a short par 5 that I could theoretically get there in two, but the first shot requires me to land where there’s a lot of that dirt that really hard. Just about every time I hit from there, I end up thinning the ball. I’m guessing because I slightly chunk it and the club bounces up into the ball (typically using a hybrid at this point). This also happened yesterday when I pulled a drive left on a different hole, same result. Do I need to come in steeper or is it simply a case of where I have to make better contact? Thanks!

Is the release a bit earlier here than irons? In your lesson with Cowen, you guys talked about "holding off" with the trail hand angle and applying pressure. Does this apply here?

Danny, is it chin on the shelf for all clubs?

Should the chin on the shelf tip apply to all iron shots? Should I use that with long irons to keep swing radius consistent? Have to think it applies to all swings but want to make sure it’s not fairway wood specific!

All swings Michael, in reality there will always be a little up and down that happens in order to create speed but for most people this image is great to keep it under control
