Hello Daniel, I love the speedrun! Recently binged all of the old ones as well. I wonder if you considered mixing up your opening repertoire a bit? Playing some 1.b3 Larsen yourself, or more Pirc instead of Accelerated dragon? At least a bit less c3 Sicilian, haha! Some variety could be fun.
@Monwa
@Monwa 3 ай бұрын
Hi danya, I'm not sure if you'll see the comment, but is it possible to possibly play a different, less theoretical sicilian than the Najdorf? The Najdorf is just such a theoretical sicilian, I remember in one of your videos you said you don't recommend it to Lower level players as well BTW I cannot express how much I love your content, I really hope it never stops, I've climbed ALOT of rating points just because of you, I just reached 1700 rapid the other day, and I know I could not have done it without you❤❤❤

Please Daniel, increase the rate of these speedrun uploads to at least one more video per week! I know you think you'll tire us out or something and lose some enthusiasm by over doing it, but I think you're highly underestimating the quality and entertainment value here. I'd even wager you'd get more views if you do so! Please, I need more and I need you to reach 1700 asap

10:43 I can accept that in theory but I manage to lose positions up a piece all the time. so in that case wouldn't the extra material advantage provide a bit more room for error? I understand ideally I wouldn't make any egregious errors up a piece but I do.
@MantasXVIII
@MantasXVIII 3 ай бұрын
If you keep eating "free" pieces while your opponent is playing positionally, you are bound to fall into traps. Even at my level I don't forfeit after losing a piece in some tricky opening line because I know for a fact my opponent thinks their 12 move stockfish line just won them the game and they get complacent, probably thinking I got tilted and they think the free piece they just picked up was a mistake when they just let me equalize or set up a mate in 6 or whatever. If they went full tryhard mode, like good players do even higher than me do, I would just forfeit because I know they will play the best moves more likely than not regardless of their advantage. Protect your pieces, protect your king, get out of pins and potential forks and take your piece up endgame if you have to. The alternative is to keep eating "free" pieces which are evidently sometimes not free and hence you throw a winning position
@johnmp1470
@johnmp1470 3 ай бұрын
Actually the whole purpose of him capturing the bishop aligns with what you’re saying, he’s giving himself more room for error by getting rid of white’s most dangerous piece. You’d be way more likely to make a losing blunder with that strong bishop on the board than with the inactive rook.
@thebcwonder4850
@thebcwonder4850 3 ай бұрын
If you trade off your opponent’s most active pieces, you’re much less likely to fall into tactics where you lose your material advantage
@imcvak3461
@imcvak3461 3 ай бұрын
@@johnmp1470 I accept that you're correct but that bishop doesn't even look strong to me. plus how is not widening the advantage giving him more room for error. if you are up a piece and blunder it (which I get he isn't going to do) then it goes from +3 to 0. But if you are up a piece and exchange and lose the piece then you still have the advantage of being up an exchange.
@imcvak3461
@imcvak3461 3 ай бұрын
@@thebcwonder4850 be that as it may for most people I can and will blunder in all possible moments so more/less likely doesn't really apply lol. I'm talking -9 advantage to forced loss in 4 in one move.

In a tournament in Greece Ehlvest was after women and was drinking heavily. He was getting so drunk that in the morning the effect was not gone! One of those nights he had an orgy with another GM and 2 (women) IMs from Greece. Next day he lost by some stupid tactical. I remember thinking how people would wonder what happened when they read the game at the Informator (no internet back then, games where being printed).
