BUT this time around Bokoen was joining him and together they will team up to try and defeat the monster that is the Soviet Union and the Allies in this HOI4 Multiplayer.

The port doesn't cause it automatically, only if you try to retreat from the port, which the IA will never do unless you click it.

Probably Germany closed Mediterranean region for supply and since adjacent provinces weren't german, game, theoretically, assumed they were encircled?

When you force retreat out of a port, units die if they are broken in battle. If you retreat to another friendly land tile, units just continue the retreat deorged. So here, germany was trying to leave Africa and thought "I'm gonna retreat through the port !" and his units melted. Dankus calls it a bug, you might argue it's not but it causes this kind of dumb shit.
